Looks like Duchene and Ceci will be on the team.

Interesting. Good to hear about Duchene. Ceci is an interesting pick. He's good, but you hope for better players in the initial invites. To be fair though Canada never brings a loaded group of defencemen.

Who on D has committed so far other than Ceci and Murray being a definite maybe?

Those are the only 2 I know of.

good news about Duchene. Roy can go for a long summer's dip in the St. Lawrence. Matt is is a trooper just like J.T., always accepts the invite. Still no news on Mackinnon?

No idea with MacKinnon. Hopefully his contract situation (despite still being restricted) has no impact.

We're gonna need some more experience on that blue line. Need a solid 1st pairing experienced guy. The Burns and Hamhuis pairing last year was so stabilizing.

Yes. Canada gets good forwards with some regularity, but the defensive groups often leave a lot to be desired. There is still a chance for Brodie (legit #1 at this level, though inexperienced) or even Subban. The best bet from the playoffs would probably be Burns (good history of attending, can solidify a World Cup spot) or maybe Pietrangelo. I don't think any other top defenceman would go.

I still cannot understand why Brodie is hedging on this?

I can't recall him even playing in it before.

Sakic said he will if he's healthy......

He also confirmed that Nathan MacKinnon, who missed the final 10 games with a knee injury, wasn't seriously injured and wouldn't require surgery.

"I think the knee was a little worse than what everybody predicted or thought initially," Sakic said. "But if he gets healthy, he'll go to the World Championships (to play for Canada)."

Just heard on TSN 690 Montreal that PK is in. Anybody else hear anything about PK?

Gallagher's participation is unsure.

“I would obviously like to go and I’d love to play for Canada but I did a few things to my knee when I went down,” Gallagher said on Saturday morning. “I’m going to have to get things evaluated with the doctors here. Surgery is not in the plans, so I don’t expect to have to have it.

“Hopefully I can go to the Worlds but I’m not going to risk anything with next season here.”

Slowly this is shaping up to be a good collection of players.

The competition is not high compared to prior years, if this group comes together, there's a huge chance for a repeat.

Scheifele, Domi, Marchand, Bergeron, Staal, think those players will tag along?

Do you think they'll wait one round for any players. First round will be over before they have to leave it seems.

So far from a handful of comments on here these are players that are accepted or are on a short list. With Boston out and playoffs teams final, I think we see things pick up here.

Stone
Hall
Jenner
R. Murray
Talbott
Eberle
Duchene
Ceci

Are these all confirmed or are they in the "if im healthy i will go" category

Where is reilly?

Why Brodie and Gio would think they are too good to go and pass up on this is baffling (assuming both are healthy).

Burns and Ekblad went last year. Guys like Giroux, Crosby, Seguin, etc. went. They looked like they genuinely had a great time and were ecstatic when they won. There was some awesome hockey played last year.

With Boston out, really hope Bergeron goes. He's probably the favourite for the C.
