It feels like we're never going to catch up to Edmonton in number of games played. Someone check, do they play 90 games this season or something?

It won't be until the Leafs play the Sabres on March 31st that the difference in games played goes below 3.

Games played won't be equal until the Leafs have played game 81 on April 7th.

Hopefully by then we know exactly where the Leafs will finish in the overall standings so their remaining games won't effect the standings if they happen to win them.

Flames to move 6 points up.

Not out of the question leafs lock up 30th place on April 1st

Feels good to slowly solidify our spot. It's definitely reassuring to know you'll draft #4 at worst. Still, I've got my eyes set on Auston Matthews, he's exactly what we need on this team.

I also very much want to see Caps Pens first round so we get can a solid second first round selection.

Despite the disparity between these teams in terms of points, the result of this series would be FAR from a foregone conclusion. Given the star power on either team, I think it could go either way quite easily. If the Pens enter the playoffs entirely healthy (which they have not been able to do in recent years), they would make this a very close series.

Another thing to keep in mind is that even if a wildcard team makes it to the second round, their pick will not be altered. It is only in the conference finals that the four remaining teams have their picks pushed to the end of the round. If Pittsburgh were to advance to round 2 and then lose, they would pick in the same spot that they would have had they lost in round 1.

It appears the Flyers may have other plans for the Pens pick. They have such a nice rivalry but they don't want the Pens to miss out on a 1st rounder :sarcasm:

I do feel for the guys. This had to be a game they really felt like they could win.

But....it is a very clutch regulation loss. Such a good tank night with the teams around us getting points of some sort while we don't add any.

Marincin with the tape-to-tape pass tonight for the loss.

I can't decide if Marincin is trying to lose, or just actually that bad.

Give Marincin a nice AHL contract as reward for being such a terrific tank commander this year. Doing great service to the cause.
