Well in the end no change between the Leafs and Flames. I'm glad they got a point so we didn't gain a bit of ground on them :).

You're confused. If Pitt misses the playoffs we get to "keep" their 2016 2nd round pick instead.
If they make the playoffs in 2017 we will also get their 1st round pick. however, we must give up our 2nd round pick which will likely be around 31-35.
If Pitts misses the playoffs 2017 we get their 2017 2nd round pick, in addition to their 2016 2nd rounder, with no other picks given back to Pitts.

I just wanted to clarify something here - if the Pens miss this year and make it next year, are we able to choose which 2nd round pick we give them (San Jose or Ottawa if their pick is lower), or does it have to be ours?

We do this last year and BUF still finishes 30th, maybe we finish 29 and EDM wins the lotto.

1 McDavid
2 Eichel
3 Marner

We probably end up with Marner anyways. Hope this makes you feel better.

This is bang on. I always say this to people who say why didn't we do this last year. Newsflash: we did. Difference is we were against the cap as well and still managed to be worse than we are now.

We got Marner who is a top prospect in hockey.

Joe Colborne tying it for Calgary... probably the biggest contribution he's made for the Leafs..

even though they lost it, it cancels out our point tonight and burns a game off

6 point gap on Edmonton, Calgary and Winnipeg now.

woooof

well a little bit salvaged on the night

it was looking like a complete bust of a night

but we pull out a clutch loss and a

calg last seconds tie

damn you philly

nope, it's our pick that goes to them. That's whay it's really important they make this year. A jump from say 44 to 16 this year is way better than a jump that could(picking numbers in a range here) only be from 35 to 25 next year.

Seems like a number of Habs fans are envious of how good Toronto's tank is. Habs are bound to pick up more points here, which will bump them out of the bottom 10. :D Get well soon Price.

It's amazing to see so many tank fans here. I am not *****ing about the losses or anything but i hope folks realize that a last place finish is still just a 20% chance at Matthews and only slightly better than 50/50 to stay in top 3!

don't worry, our tank will get even better after next tuesday's game against tampa. the kids get send down (9 game limit) and we'll be back to playing our wonderful scrubs.

i think they're only 4 points out of bottom 5?

Like the Flames the Canadiens play a lot better at home. Habs are 13-19-3 on the road, but are 17-11-3 at home. Montreal is playing 4 straight games at home starting tomorrow, so they are bound to pick more points again. Overall, they have 10 home games and 6 road games left this season.

Plus Price is due to come back any game now.

which is a million times better than a 25% top 3 shot and the possibility of ending up at 5th ova. No need to be so pessimistic, we all understand the odds.

Aside from the shortened lockout year, and the seasons where Burke traded our 1st rounders, Toronto has always had a big tank following over the last decade or so. Management has finally caught up to our philosophy.

this is only year one of the rebuild imo. babcock ll shanny lemaire have transformed this team to players who play hard and with heart, its fans into fans again, and the media into desperate vagina whipped beggars

next season will only be better...i hope we dont finish last, better off in the bottom five

 Convinced its the same person with a boat load of accounts posting that same odds comment every few days. As if people in this thread don't have those odds memorized.
