If I was Dustin Brown I would be relieved that DL stripped me of the captaincy, considering how bad his play has become. I would feel awkward being the captain of a team when there are superstars like Kopitar and Doughty that deserve it more. Hopefully this takes some pressure off of him and he returns some of his old form.
Him saying his relationship with management, "Isn't rosey" is pretty blunt for this sort of interview.

I think this is clearly being done to light a fire under his ass. Given how poorly he has performed for the last three straight consecutive seasons, something had to change with him.

I know his cap hit is horrible, but sort of surprised some type of trade couldn't be worked out considering there was a trade in place for Richards at last years draft.

There was? Word is that Dean was talking to Edmonton and Calgary about the possibility, I never read about a supposed deal being in place for him to move. And whatever discussions were going on were cut short once Dean found out about Richards and his border arrest.

Still don't believe there was a trade in place. "Framework of a deal" possibly but nothing was finalized and ready to go.

Part of the problem with Brown is he doesn't have an agent.
That is part of an agents job when a player isn't wanted to try and find them a home.
They have relationships with GM's just like other GM's do with each other.
And they can help facilitate a trade.

Was Brown's interview session recorded, by any chance?
I checked Jon Rosen's Twitter and he had some highlights posted -- but from the sound of it, this was a very honest interview by Brown to the reporters and I'd love to hear it.

I wanted to hear if someone would specifically ask him if he felt by removing the C, that it perhaps could lesson the pressure he's putting on himself, and he actually said that it could.
So it stands to reason that while he is publicly stating his dissatisfaction with the C being removed (and frankly, what champion wouldn't be?), he is on board to some degree with the decision, and buys into why the decision was made.
God, it'd be great (and mostly unlikely, imo) to get 40-45 pts from Brown.

Wow, that was a very candid interview.
He goes on to say that when it was announced by everyone on Twitter (losing the C), that it was actually leaked and that neither he, nor his family released that info. That was particularly upsetting to him, he says.
