2016 LA Kings Offseason GDT IV

I really really hope we sign Hamhuis, or even Campbell. Polak would be an awful move, slow and not a puck mover. We don't need to re-live the Schenn experiment again, and we already have McNabb to fill that role. At least the buy out of Greene is an encouraging sign...

better now than september. he will have to answer questions eventually and may as well get it over with.

If they would have done it a month ago the wound could be more fresh (if there even is a wound).

We know that DL like Hamhuis in 2010, so why not now.

Has anyone heard anything about Mitchell? There were rumors last year he may need to retire due to concussion. He is a UFA that I have heard zero about.

Hope they can sign Hamhuis. Seems like best option. Willie is 39 now...probably the oldest D in the league. Bet he retires. Will never forget his pix on the mountain with the Cup. Epic

That pic sure was.

Mitchell was a running gag in our house. I told my wife when he signed and then two weeks later she goes to me, "did you hear about Willie Mitchell?" I told her I told her that two weeks ago and we had a full convo about it.

This lead to a little argument about not listening to each other. We do not argue often so it stuck in both of our heads, and we joked about it whenever Mitchell did anything during a kings game. we would look at each other and say, "Did you hear about Willie Mitchell?"

Wish him the best if he does retire and health either way.
 
Hamhuis is certainly the best option but I wonder if they're going after a RHD like gilbert or lovejoy or zidlicky but he's a fossil
 
If anyone has a copy of that Mitchell pic on the mountain in good quality please let me know, that was epic. Up there with the Joe Sakic at Sunset in Denver one for me, but those pics are hard to track down!
 
The buyout saves what, around 1.7M on the cap? Something is obviously in the works and is probably done. Surprised DL did this, although there is likely something below the surface we don't know about.

DL has to be signing a defenseman, there's no reason to buyout Greene this year unless he needed the cap space right now.

No one is giving him anything north of $2-3 mill per when you consider he's still getting paid by the Wild, and he would be a low risk/high reward guy capable of a 20 goal season in a position of need LW...
