why??? their 3-4 years away from even competing for a playoff spot...
the oilers are still the oilers
the yotes are in a constant rebuild
the flames and Jets regressed

I don't buy that. McDavid is a game changer who, if healthy, could have a huge year. Larsson and Demers upgrade their defense with Sekera and Klefbam. Not stellar but solid top four.

Lucic McDavid Puljujarvi
Pouliot Draisital Eberle
Maroon Nuge Yakupov

Even without Yakupov, nice top nine.

Calgary added a solid goalie.

Winnipeg was clicking at the end of last season and could add Connor and Laine.

Arizona will add Strome and Dvorak to a young up and coming squad, with help from Goligoski.

Gaborik is one of our most skilled players. He had a down year so what ? So did everyoe else . Trading him would make us even worse while we keep Lewis, King , Brown , Clifford lol i love how everyone still thinks nothing is wrong but once we miss the playoffs next year ill love to start a told you so thread and hear how that koolaid still tastes .

Lucic? Hes also 6 years younger...

Trade Gaborik, resign Lucic, sign Backes 3 years 4mil per. Sign Matt Martin. Trade King and Clifford for picks or prospects. Trade Pearson + for Hamonic.

Lucic-Kopitar-Toffoli
Kempe-Carter-Mersch
Brown-Backes-Lewis
Martin-Andreoff-Dowd/Nolan

Muzzin-Doughty
Martinez-Hamonic
McNabb-Greene/Gravel

The more I think about it, the more I think we end up with Backes, whether you like it or not.

Also, none of this will happen. :(

On a 3 year deal, I could probably live with it.

only way it makes any sense is matt greene isn't recovered and will be on ir next year AND Luke Schenn is asking to much money

I thought Rosen reported that Greene is expected to make a full recovery and be ready at camp.

But if his career is in doubt, then it would make sense. But the more pressing need is that top 4 D who can fit in with Doughty, Muzzin and Martinez.

That is unless they expect big things out of Gravel or McNabb (and I shudder that thought).

Polak is ****ing terrible. He also was not "effective" against the Kings as the Kings didn't challenge anyone offensively.

Totally exposed in the SCF and exposed by LA when he was on the Blues. The thing he does better than any other player in the NHL is get KO'd in fights.

I honestly think we could get Hamhuis. He would be a good stop gap for a couple of years. Probably could sign him for 2 years between 3-3.5 mill per year. He says he wants to stay in the west so it would make sense.

I have not seen Rosen report anything on any of the season ending injuries of Nolan martinez gaborik or greene. I have ask both mayor and bernstein and only got i expect him back from bernstein. I seem to recall reading Matt Berry (who has called injury things before ) saying he was not going to come back from the injury. I have not seen anything official either way from the kings

That's the type of signing that would make a lot of sense. Just like when they signed Willie Mitchell. Hamhuis can play with Doughty while Muzzin and Martinez can remain intact and Gravel, McNabb and Greene compete for the final two spots on the blueline.

The team doesn't need to have a perfect LHD-RHD setup to succeed. Plenty of other teams who have 5 LHD and 1 RHD have succeeded before.

If the Kings come out of free agency with Matt Martin and Polak they are in deep, deep trouble. Is Dumpster Diving Dave Taylor the GM?

I hope your right but i doubt he ll take that little Got to think Vancouver would have made him a better offer then that I think min $4 million for 3

Not that I was expecting him to appear in any games, but Matt Greene was participating in team practices towards the end of the season and the playoffs. I'm fairly certain he'll be back, unless of course he suffers from another setback.

I could be wrong but i think he was only skating after the practices with the coaches. Never got into the actual practices for sure not cleared for contact

He might take a little less as he is 33 years old but I would be willing to sign for no more than 4 mill per year. I really think he is our best option as a ufa stand point.
Russell, Demers etc will be asking for 5+ mill and there just not worth it where as Hamhuis I believe will cost less and would have a chance to win a cup.

So teams with young kids that have failed to make the Playoffs to this point with the exception of Calgary will pose a threat to a team with the 5th best odds to raise the cup even without Lucic next season... yeah ok guy..

You don't know? Cups are won on paper in late June and July, oh wait.

i totally agree I wanted Hamhuis when he signed with Van and we lost him because we were waiting for Kovo to sign first i believe at least thats how i remember it He is who we need It reminds me of when we got mitchell

What's Rob Valicevic and Randy Robitaille up to these days? I'm expecting those kinds of free agents. Oh and Chris McAlpine and Jason Holland on d.

Pundits picked LA to win last season guy.

If LA fires on all pistons and Anaheim and the Sharks crap the bed, LA could be a top three Pacific team.

I'm guessing San Jose and Anaheim finish 1 & 2.

Leaving LA to battle it out for the third slot. Could be wrong but I think they are better teams with less holes.

I also think the central teams are all tough. LA could make a play for either wild card spots.

All in all, I don't think Vegas hype means jack.
