hard to believe Pirri could only fetch a 6th.
so did 3 other "respected" ppl
i get it, its easy to hate on Eklund, its low hanging fruit....but he has legit sources with those teams and he was the first to have the Joey trade...
While I think the Jones-Johansen trade was a move in the right direction, it's hard not to feel like this organization needs a jolt of some kind offensively. I would have liked a Fiala type pick up to bring that. Oh well.
I think it will be a failure of a deadline if one of Hartnell, Tyutin, or Campbell isn't moved. We need some cap space.
Yeah, and the guy who was asking for $5.5 mil/year. I just don't get it.
If he helps Dallas win the Cup they'll pay him a lot but probably not 5.5. If they don't like him they give up a 2nd and move on.
As much as we get on the team about offense we're only 10 or less goals from top 10 in the league. The league average is really bunched up. Our issues isn't so much scoring goals as it is keeping it out of our own net. We have to drop like 40 GA to get into the top 10 consideration.
So you're saying we're committed to...whatever we're doing?

Plus two prospects. And they shan't be winning the Cup this year with LA and Chicago in their way. An expensive transaction for probably a second round exit.
One thing offensively is that Hartnell is slow and I'd like a bit more speed in that top 6 to play with Wenny and Saad.
So we're keeping the 25th ranked band together and the cap at the limit heading into the offseason, it seems.

You can always trade in the offseason too

This team will have a better start next year -- a Ryan Murray extended for two years is the best acquisition this year
