Good ol' semantics. One can speculate about rumors and create rumors about speculations. I find both speculation and rumor interesting to read.

You know what I'm talking about.

"Hey, I'm a Oilers fan and I want to rape you in a trade for RNH", that is the kind of stuff that I don't want to see. That isn't speculation or rumor.

If you see McKenzie come out and say "We're getting reports that the CBJ are quietly listening to offers for Ryan Johansen"; fans all over the league have some fun.

Very different scenarios.

Hartnell for Wilson hasn't had legs since the Johansen deal.

I think that the bolded is more than likely correct, but Friedman didn't help things by putting the Hartnell for Wilson proposal in his 30 thoughts and saying it made sense to him.

Once he posted that, other blogs (the Preds SB nation board) and writers ran with it.

I just don't understand why you feel empowered to decide what counts as rumor and speculation. Why don't you let people comment without being rude/dismissive?

Yeah, that is what I pointed out. That isn't a rumor it's just some dudes random thoughts. It just speaks to the little goblins in peoples minds and it suddenly has traction.

Maybe, but does Tyutin want Detroit? I would think Tyutin would be very open to a trade now, but who knows. I don't think AP has even bothered to ask him. I know he asked a few questions at the time that Tyutin was getting scratched, but I don't think that ever came up. I wouldn't expect an honest answer out of Tyutin, but I'd at least ask.

I'm looking through the cap situation of deadline teams that would like to add; I'm trying to figure out who would want him on top of afford him.

Nashville, Florida. I don't know maybe the Islanders. Most teams would need us to take something we wouldn't like back. Moving him doesn't appear to be trivial.
