Really seems like a pointless rule. If i'm understanding it...CBJ sends Rychel back to Lake Erie and after 3pm EST recalls him to get around the rule?

We'll probably have around 10 million of cap space, that should be enough to handle our RFA's. I'm not sure how we'd feel hamstrung.

Using the picture painted by Fro in the post to which I replied. I did not suggest Jarmo is or was going to be hamstrung. In fact, I was saying he should not take that posture with regard to trading Hartnell.

I just don't think his value will ever be higher. You have to TRY to maximize his value and salary cap savings.

Perhaps his max value is performing well for your team.

"Not sure why we keep speculating in a speculation thread."

There was something just recently that stated that moving Hartnell to Nashville back at the Jones deal was nixed because they wanted us to take Wilson. There was also something that came out on the TSN special that stated it was heard that the CBJ had no interest in Wilson.

There was never a legitimate rumor that the CBJ had any interest Wilson/Hartnell or Wilson at all in any context. The deal never made sense and it's just been a bogey man to scare the fans. That anyone would have that as an active fear at this point is kind of baffling.

A lot of this rolls back to some guy that thought it made sense to him.

For that to even be considered by the CBJ, Nashville would have to add a lot to the deal.

Having said that, this is a rumor thread - not a speculation thread. That has always been my issue with the posters and moderators about this thread. If there are proposals that comes from a legitimate rumor source, I have no issue with that. Just randomly throwing out trade proposals ideas with any player in the league kind of makes this thread difficult to read/follow and a waste of time. You end up trying to find out it it even came from a source somewhere.

Read that the poster is highly dubious that, regardless of what was reported or even potentially offered, that the deal would ever have been acceptable to the CBJ.

That's funny, that's how I read J2F's post. I guess it's still true that there's a lot open to interpretation on a message board.

Also, I'm really glad CBJ turned down Nashville's offer of Colin Wilson for Scott Hartnell that I saw somewhere.

Good ol' semantics. One can speculate about rumors and create rumors about speculations. I find both speculation and rumor interesting to read.
