With Gaborik injured, I think it makes sense to temporarily play Carter on the wing with Kopitar. We have a log jam for the 3rd and 4th line center spots, so this will be a good opportunity to see which center can fill that void. Dowd, Shore, Lewis, Latta, Andreoff can be given opportunities to fill the 2C, 3C, and 4C spots until Gaborik comes back and Carter goes back to his 2C role. Of course, if we need to shut things down defensively during a game, Carter can go back to being the 2C.

The thought of any of those guys centering our 2nd line makes me sick.

The point would not be to find our next 2C replacement, but to see which one of those players could fill the 3C spot. In other words, it creates more opportunities to see all of these potential 3C/4C candidates interview for those spots.

Of course it was just practice but I really like what I saw from Dowd at training camp (day 1). He was brimming with confidence with a bit of swagger. I think he makes the team and gets a shot at one of those spots.

Shore otoh, needs a transfusion of some Mike Richards' brazen anticipation.

Was thinking exactly the same thing, he's too queensberry rulesish

To me, Stoll always had the perfect amount of *********giness. Enough to be a pain to the other team and borderline dirty, but not enough to lose respect amongst the league nor his peers. The squad really misses that semi-skilled guy who can mix it up.

Too bad Lowry doesn't have a bit more skill, he would make a perfect replacement. If he can find some offense he would fit nicely on the 3rd line.

I was starting to think practice was cancelled this morning because Jon Rosen's been silent, then I saw this tweet:

He also noted that the '70s Line skated together and yep, Jack Flnn is still a big goalie. So thanks to All the Kings Men for the training camp tweets. I'll take any hockey crumbs because it's September and we're hungry for hockey.

If I had to pick a Kings kid that Sutter would play right away it's Auger. As it stands now won't surprise me one bit to see a lot of HF posters disappointed and a very like Setoguchi given top 9 minutes to start the season.

I was intrigued by Auger at the Friday practice...moves pretty damn good for a guy his size...can't wait until his hands catch up with the rest of him.

Setoguchi had real flashes of skill going. I was also intrigued by Bjorkstrand, sort of a poor man's Ziggy.

If Seto is clean and motivated, I could think of worse depth options. Plus he COULD play top six although obviously much less than ideal. But with Gabby down, we're short on NHL experience anyway, so.

I would be shocked, no completely stunned if Auger makes this team. I think there is almost zero chance.

I was always surprised how much borderline **** that stoll got away with, without having to answer the bell, he was great at pushing the envelope.

What do you guys think of Martinez for Lindholm?

Ducks get a solid versatile D on a good contract that they can afford and the Kings get a nice young D for the future?

Was sitting around trying to think of ways to help the Ducks. :naughty:

**** it... trade Muzzin for Trouba, turn around offersheet Lindholm... Who's down!

I know how Lombardi says he feels about offersheets, but come on. A few picks for Lindholm while ***** the Ducks? Does it get any better?

Seriously.... offersheet Lindholm 5 years at 6.75-7.2, costs 1st+2nd+3rd. He'll sign it. It'll take him just about right to UFA and he can cash in then too. Ducks would have to match or lose him for picks. They match their internal cap is ****ed. Kings could trade someone to make the cap work and recoup the picks.

Honestly I don't know how they have him that goal. It was all Martinez with Nolan screening the goalie. Lessio was on the ice but didn't score.

From my seats in the 300's press box side, my view was over marty's shoulder as he shot and the puck looked tipped, thought it was Nolan's goal until the announcement
