Allons!
Dee, I do apologize. Sincerely. I was just having a bad hair moment. I was being an ass and I totally apologize.

I am a big fan of Dee. She's educated me about the game of hockey and gotten me interested in what's going on with other teams, where before I didn't care if it didn't involve the Kings. You gotta be careful where you aim that bazooka. She's one of our own.
Now I have to go find a gif to celebrate the Kings' win.

I must admit I follow the league a bit less closely than I used to. Not so much because the product is down, but just because I am juggling more in my life now than I used to.
I do think all the pro leagues (with the exception of the NFL) would be better off if they cut the schedule by 25%, not only would each game mean more but the product would be better with no back to back games, but we know this will never happen.
I agree,
If the NHL played 72 games, it would be a lot better. I think the NBA/MLB would also be better with less games.
Wow, what exactly did I say to **** you off so much?
I wonder if the Caps plan on resigning Williams and/or Oshi in the off season? I think Oshi would be a good fit, but we would have to buy out Gaborik to make him fit, get rid of Lewis and Clifford, and trade AMart for a 1st and prospect. If we can't land him, I think we should resign Iginla, sign Vrbata, and target Williams if he is willing to sign a one year contract for one million.

Williams is no longer a top line player. This is ugly.no thank you
He has 22 goals so far on the season? How is that not top line. Also, any contract would be short term one or two years. So if his game completely falls off the map there are no repercussions.

I would like Oshie but not on the contract he's likely to demand. 5-6 years at $5-6 million. I'd pass on that.

I think over coaching is what's hurting sports

I love Oshie and he'd be a great fit on the Kings. But he's eyeing more than 6M (from an interview I heard in the last couple weeks) they mentioned a few recent signings, Okposo got an LTC at 6M per coming off a 22 goal season, Backus new deal in Boston Is 5 M per and he hasn't hit 30 in 7 years. They theorized he'll be asking in the 7M neighborhood and given his career points average s pretty good, .70. And there might be GM willing to overpay but I'd say he'll end up 6.5.
He's a good player, goal scored and don't underestimate his agent using all those shootout goals and the W's they bring to add extra kaching to his price.
If the Caps can' sign him, there will be teams who would be interested.
But given TT and TP, I don't see how he'd fit or how they fit DD with another high LTC on the books.
But I 'd love to see him in the Kings' top 6.
I wouldn't mind a bit more thuggery on D, just a third pairing guy that can handle the scrappier games and provide a bit of intimidation. Perhaps pick up a guy like Mcilrath and mould him into a dman that isn't a complete liability.

Yeah, I figured a lot closer to $6 million or more after I posted. Kings could certainly do it if they wanted to. Would take a combination of a lot of things (Lewis taken by Vegas, Greene LTIR or retire, cap increase, etc) but it'll probably be another toxic contract in 2-3 years.[/
Well that's the risk , right? He'll be 31 next year and what happens 3 yrs from now if he's got 4 left and his game has dropped off.
Unless a GM pays him more $$ for less term, up the stakes bit. But most players want that 7 or 8 yrs. Next yr the Kings have 5 players in their 30's on LTC's, that's already too many
