Thats if we even get miller, which we wont, because DP isn't close to enough.

Did you just ignore the justification I made for why Pouliot for Miller would work?

Miller's value isn't as high as it normally is because of his RFA status and the Rangers likeky inability to re-sign him. You're also undervaluing Pouliot pretty badly and ignoring how much of a need he'd fill for the Rangers. If Miller were to be traded purely for picks, he probably wouldn't get better than a mid 1st and 3rd due to his RFA status.

well, DP isnt worth a 1st and a 3rd. So they'll settle for that then. Dp wont get miller. And rivals and stuff.

Again, you're seriously undervaluing Pouliot here. You're showing your crap valuation skills again. Did Reinhart not get a 1st and a 2nd last summer?

The rivalry won't make a difference because both teams are giving up a young stud. It's not like one is giving up only draft picks.

Maybe you're right.....matter a fact, i hope you are. I just dont see ANY team(besides van) giving up 1 st for DP,

I don't think Pouliot would net a 1st at this point. I'm not all that down on his game, but he was a reach at #8 originally, and he's still not an NHL regular.

Pouliot is at worst on par with guys projected to go in the middle of the 1st round. There is really no basis to support the idea that he's not even worth a 1st.

I'm really really optimistic about our situation moving forward.

XXX - Crosby - Hornqvist
Rust - Malkin - Sprong
Hagelin - Bonino - Kessel
Kuhnhackl - Cullen - Fehr

I don't see any need to split up HBK to start next season. Give Sprong a shot with Geno and let Rust be the puck retriever. If Cullen sticks around, stick with that fourth line. If not, sub in Sundqvist. Sundqvist and Sheary are the first call-ups. Get a fast gritty guy who can shoot for that 1LW. Ideally Alex Killorn.

Maatta - Letang
Dumoulin - Daley
Cole - Schultz/Pouliot

If Schultz is willing to take a one-year show me deal, keep him and either trade Pouliot or give him more AHL time. If not, give him a shot. Let Lovejoy walk. Draft defencemen with both of our 2nds.

Trade Fleury, Kunitz, RFA rights to Bennett, maybe Pouliot.

The good news is I can't see how we enter next year looking worse than this year. We need to upgrade the top two lines, and we're either gonna have Kunitz and Sheary or something better (it can't get worse).

There aren't many examples of teams trading their 1st for a player drafted 4 years ago and has yet to establish himself. It's not even just about value. They'd sooner trade a former 1st rounder of their own.

The best example was Reinhart, who brought back a 1st and a 2nd and was drafted in the same year (drafted higher but did worse at the pro level). I don't think Pouliot gets quite that, but I'd be shocked if say Arizona wouldn't give up the Rangers 1st for Pouliot.

Im pretty sure if he was worth a first, hed be gone by now.

Again, you have absolutely no basis for this

As do I. Really hope he as a great offseason and packs on a little more mass. At worst, I think he can complement Bones and Kessel. You can then move Hagelin up.

Completely forgot about about Wilson, amazing how these guys have shot up. If there isn't a good deal for a forward then plug Wilson up there with Sid.

You're just making stuff up now about management not liking Pouliot. You're making stuff up out of thin air to support your agenda.

Pouliot's value will still be in the 1st round range as long as he's still eligible to get sent down to WBS. When that doesn't happen and if he doesn't progress, he'll probably pull off a Gormley return (other struggling D prospect). Pouliot won't fall to Gormley level value as long as he progresses this year. If be stalls and doesn't become better/regresses in the next year, then you're looking at a nothing return.

I like DP. i do. But the rest of the league doesn't view him the same way us pens fans do. He was very good for us in the regular season. But around the NHL hes viewed as a bust probably. No way he returns a 1st.
