Seattle won tonight to complete a series sweep against Tri-City. Hopefully Gropp will be healthy for the next series.

So far Seattle, Regina, and Soo have advanced to the QF. Windsor and Rouyn-Noranda are up 3-2 in their series, and Prince George is tied 2-2 in their series.

Is he a promising prospect?

Well, NYR signed him to an ELC already...so they like him.

Biggest knock on him is his skating...but he's only 18 and might still be growing. He should get better on his skates.

Biggest asset is his size, obviously. He can push people around and easily establish position for himself. Also has a decent shot with a pretty quick release. Scores often from the slot area. Decent passer, too.

Guess we'll see how things develop.

Surprised that Fontaine goal counted. Looked like a pretty obvious high stick.

Pretty good pass by Day in the third. No finish from his teammate.

Fontaine is clutch. Something 95% of the current Rangers are not. Last night was yet another perfect example of that. Stick was not above the crossbar. It was even with it.

One thing I will agree with you on. He did the same last season, too. He's big when he needs to be.

Yeah, dwelling on Saarela is not healthy. Like an ex.

Just move on with your life. It's for the best.

Windosr playing @ 2PM EDT today. Windsor needs to wrap this up today at home...don't want to go back to London for a Game 7.

Incidentally, if Windsor advances...they play Soo. It would be Day vs Gettinger.

Is he a promising prospect?

I like him, but with the caveat that it will be a huge challenge for him to keep up with the pace in the NHL.

But this kid is a smart hockey player. Plays to his strength along the boards. Knows what to do with the puck. Goes hard to the net. He isn't becoming a solid top 6, but he can fill a need like a Maroon on a scoring line, but it's very helpful to get into the league to be able to play in a bit more of a grinders role. And Gettinger has those smarts along the board and with his positioning that bought someone like Ruslan Fedetenko a role in this league.

That'll be fun!

Just an insignificant update on Bernhardt and Reunanen.

Vasteras has played 5 of 10 scheduled games in their relegation tournament. Vasteras is dong terrible and is likely to be relegated to HockeyEttan .... the Third Tier in Swedish hockey. Bernhardt has played in all of the games and has just the one goal I showed in a video last week. No other goals or assists.

Been following TUTO in the Mestis league, hoping that Reunanen would get some starts after his Liiga U20 team got knocked out of the POs. Not sure what the deal is, but he is not getting any starts. Maybe he is off the roster now? In any case, TUTO is down 3 games to 0 to a lower seed in the semifinals. It's likely they'll lose that series and then play a series with the other semi-finals loser for the Bronze Medal (Mestis gives out Medals...Gold,Silver,Bronze).

I guess the best we can hope for right now is that TPS lets Tarmo start in Liiga next season and sticks with him.
