Michael Paliotta. Tell me more?

Considering he's only a -1 after 41 games played this year for a team that's constantly getting shellacked I consider that stat almost a minor miracle. He's 23 and with very good size. He doesn't appear to have a great offensive game though he does seem pretty decent at getting pucks to the other team's net. If he makes it--which is a good if--he's most likely to be a stay at home guy. As far as the younger D goes he's the second best there but a step down from Graves.

NHL Network carried Windsor vs London game 1 from yesterday so I watched from the second period till end of overtime. Day played pretty well overall though there were a couple of weak shifts defending in overtime. He can transport the puck and doesn't hesitate to shot on the net. He's such a big easy, it always looks like he has another gear that he never uses. TV commentator said (as Day was chasing a puck back into own zone against opponents forward) that "Day was going back as fast as he needed against this forward". Pretty good description of Day.

Hell yes Wall! Kicking ass and taking names.

I wouldn't go that far. Wall was fine and made the saves he needed to but Cornell was awful. They could barely generate a rush and other than one or two chances on their only powerplay and the disallowed goal the Big Red couldn't get to the front of the net.

That's a shutout that goes to the defense. UML dominated in every way and Wall spent more time getting heckled by Cornell fans than trying to stop pucks.

I think Paliotta has a higher defensive upside than Graves. Somewhat lower offensive potential, but he's steadier defensively.

So will this put an end to the discussions if he actually exists or not?

He doesn't come up often, but the questions about his existence were mostly me talking to myself on the boards. I suppose I can stop asking myself these questions now. :wg:

I know he's not going anywhere with us, but I'm gonna keep following him 'cuz we still own his rights for another 2 years after this summer. Lindberg didn't have a breakout season until he was 21, so maybe Bernhardt can do the same. Oscar did it in the SHL, though...so things really aren't looking good for Bernhardt.

Just a reminder that Wall/Lowell play Notre Dame in a little more than 1.5 hours from now on ESPNU.

Windsor-London is on right now, good start to the game by Day. Missed the net on a great chance on the first shift then he hit the post just recently.

Some good prospects to keep an eye on for the upcoming draft aswell, Vilardi is one ofcourse but i really like Thomas a lot, so patient with the puck and a great passer. Also interested in Boka and Formenton, could be available late in the draft, both are closeish to be 2018 draft eligable and have decent numbers this season.

Sean Day is having a good period, solid defensively, shooting the puck and clean zone exits galore... Keeps it simple in all 3 zones so far...

Thomas is really good. I mentioned him like a week or two ago in the draft thread. Underrated player who's become very noticed for being incredibly underrated that I think he might go too early now for the Rangers to draft him.

I like him, both on paper and from what i've seen. I wouldn't use our 1st on him though honestly, but if he drops and we get some additional picks then yeah, i'm in :)

Agreed. Anyone that saw the game could easily tell that Cornell just couldn't outdo what UMass-Lowell was able to that night.

No offense!! :)

Will definitely be keeping an eye on this tournament. Thanks, Revel!! :)

Wall is an engineering major. Must be a smart kid.

They said he was a late bloomer, but he broke every record for the Leamington Flyers in the GOJHL.

Wall gave up a goal. The guy not getting all of the shot threw him off. He made an initial nice save on a 1v1, but the guy got to the rebound, and put a weak shot under Wall's pad. Had the guy gotten good contact on it, he probably misses as Wall got over in time to make the second save, but the bad shot through everything off, and it went under his pad into the net.
