We've had a very attractive group of prospects in the last few years even though the hockey competence might not have been too high. Good to build confidence and more type A personalities though.

Joey B: Don't know why SNY put this on the website today but the rankings are actually the rankings from the THN Future Watch issue from this past winter and does not necessarily reflect play over the last 3-4 months and certainly does not reflect the recent free agent signings. Perhaps in the THN Draft issue that has just come out it repeats the earlier rankings leading SNY to reference the rankings. I wouldn't spend a lot of time focusing on this list.

Corey Pronman from ESPN is issuing his top 100 draft prospects. He released rankings 81-100. For all you Sean Doughie fans, Pronman listed him at 100.

I liked his top 30 last year, he had Keller pretty high, as he should've been. Should have had Mccavoy rated much higher.

Normally, I don't spend time focusing in on rankings, because it's their own list. People are entitled to their opinions, even if they don't make sense (lol @ America).

But to shy away from politics, it is interesting to see the article to be rereleased at such a random moment. Thanks for the heads up!! :)

Nieves being the best forward prospect is a joke haha

Need a forward prospect overhaul stat

Top-line center Nieves, right?

FYI: SNY is probably the most annoying website in the world. It's basically an RSS feed linking to other articles. No original content, ever.

@Revel: As a T-birds fan, I am worried. Barzal, Bear, Gropp and Kolesar will all be gone. We lost Jerret Smith last year. I don't think they can recover from losing that much talent in 1 year. I am preparing for a year or two of fighting to even make the play-offs.

I am ecstatic about that!! I don't give a flying **** if he's 5'3", that kid can play!!

If he can play, who cares.

He could still grow a bit, too. His brother is 5'7" at 20 years old. If you draft him at 5'3" and he grows a couple inches...hey... If not, it's a good risk to take.

Time to see how good they draft. Silvertips seem to put up a better team each year because of that and in turn have a better following.
I think the names on your list are all headed for AHL at the least.
True I think should go EU pro team and work on his game. He could be a player that comes back at 25-28 years old and makes it to the NHL.
Easnor may be gone as well, that is a big hit. I hope he gets picked up, such a good team first guy.
Being a GM in developmental leagues has got to be a tough job. Imagine if the NHL had its best players retire after 3-4 seasons?!?

Well, as a fan it's not that much easier. Getting attached to players, and see them leave every few years :(

@mods:

Can we discuss junior hockey in this thread even if it isn't related to our own prospects? Or can we create a thread for Junior/college hockey?
