Habs fans defending Emelin on the main board are the biggest hypocrites around. But hey, at least that Urkel'sNeighbor guy has learned not to call Marchand a turtler. Baby steps Habs fans. Baby steps.

Exactly! Just. Keep. Winning.

That Auston Matthews kid is pretty good, huh? That sucks...

Matthew's looks like the perfect player for that team and that area

Babcock & Matthews spells success

McDavid is outstanding but this kid complete package is right there

What a fit

It's been fun getting them going. They are in total denial about Emelin and just keep trying to deflect the criticism back onto other teams and players.

One just replied "one piece sticks break all the time" when I pointed out their idea of a "marginal" cross check was Emelin breaking his stick over Seguin's ribs. They truly are the People's Temple of hockey fans.

He can't fight because punches to the head wouldn't be kind to his metal plates. Of course that doesn't stop him from throwing shoulders and elbows into opposing players' heads (not like that would be bad for him if the skate was on the other foot or anything), and then turtles behind his goalie (whom he's previously injured, with a little help from Dale Weise).

I've said it before: Emelin not fighting because "He could die!" from the plates in his face is the biggest Habs myth since "Patches was a millimeter from being paralyzed or dead!"

Watching a player in the bleu blanc et rouge turning a green turtle never gets old, and always puts a smile on my face.

Did you know he's never been suspended and therefore should be nominated for the Byng every season!? :amazed: :sarcasm:

The Rangers better not screw up and eliminate these losers in round 1!

Habs will have home ice advantage despite the Rangers most likely finishing with a better record than them. And the Atlantic is still the second best division in the league... The Metro is crazy.

not mine, I`d find it far more gratifying to see them stand in there and take a beating like a man, especially Emelin, for as much as Shaw drives me nuts, at the very least, he`s dropped them with some decent scrappers, Emelin`s first reaction is almost always hit the ice, cover up, that doesn`t put a smile on my face

It was so gratifying to see Chara rag doll that turd when the linesmen and refs were too far up ice for him to hide behind.

Bob McKenzie just picked up another source for his role as a hockey insider. For those who may not be familiar with the team referenced, Kitchener is in the Ontario junior hockey league. If memory serves me correct, believe Mike's hockey career was cut short by issues associated with severe concussions.

"The Kitchener Rangers of the OHL have a new boss, and it’s a name familiar to hockey fans across North America. Mike McKenzie will take over as GM of the junior franchise after Murray Hiebert has transitioned into the Director of Hockey Operations role. McKenzie is the son of TSN Insider Bob McKenzie, a long-time face of hockey in print and television in Canada and the United States. The Rangers are currently down 3-1 in their OHL playoff series against the Owen Sound Attack."

Habs fans on the main board fawning over the time Emelin "took on" and "stood up to" Chara. Oblivious to the video showing Chara chasing him down in the corner, Emelin falling down, and Chara yanking him back to his feet by the scruff of his neck.

I admire you and any other Bruins fan entering the unsavory den of the main board. Keep fighting the good fight!

I don't often tread in that wretched hive of villainy and scum, but an Emelin thread always sucks me in!

Hes the type of player that you love to hate when you play against him but love when hes on your team. Look at Claude Julien. Hes now one of Emelin's greatest fans when he plays his game, which is making them huge legal hits. Face it guys, if he was on your team, most of you would be defending him.

Julien scratched him on March 18th against Ottawa. Has practiced as a 7th dman.

We know Clode well enough to suggest otherwise....

I don't like that he doesn't answer for his borderline hits, and I wouldn't respect that aspect of his game if he played on the Bruins. Look at Torey Krug - he had no problem answering for his hit on Shaw - twice.

And just because something is deemed 'legal' by a constantly perplexing and inconsistent league doesn't mean it isn't cheap. That hit on that tough guy Tyler Seguin that led to Chara's response is a classic example.

If you're going to make that hit, make it. But answer for it. That's the gist of what Shawn Thornton was saying.

And I don't buy the excuse about the plate in his face. If that were so he shouldn't even be playing hockey.

I hated Lucic and Marchand like no other player in the NHL but Im honest enough to realize that I would love them on my team. The same should also apply to Emelin.

The guy knows how to fight. Heck he didnt shy away from them during his russian hockey years and was pretty good till he was almost killed in one of them. Now hes been told that if he really wants to play hockey, which he did, that he needs to avoid contact with his metal plates as much as possible. So that means no fighting. I see nothing wrong with that. Hitting someone doesnt mean that you should fight afterwards. Hitting is part of the game and is deemed legal. Fighting isnt.
