I hated Lucic and Marchand like no other player in the NHL but Im honest enough to realize that I would love them on my team. The same should also apply to Emelin.

The guy knows how to fight. Heck he didnt shy away from them during his russian hockey years and was pretty good till he was almost killed in one of them. Now hes been told that if he really wants to play hockey, which he did, that he needs to avoid contact with his metal plates as much as possible. So that means no fighting. I see nothing wrong with that. Hitting someone doesnt mean that you should fight afterwards. Hitting is part of the game and is deemed legal. Fighting isnt.

You will never convince us, he is more like Rinaldo who was never accepted in Boston.

Fair enough. But damn, admit that hes a damn good hitter at least. Now that goons are becoming a thing of the past, huge legal hits are the next best thing and Emelin is very good in that area.

I will admit though that it does bother me that he cant fight even though I understand the reasons. Never looks good when a player is assaulted and he turtles so on that I do understand some of the comments here and on the mainboard.

I dont think you and some of your Hab fans (or any fan defending Emelin) get what Thornton is preaching and frankly lives by. That is a code. Just like, although not nearly as serious, the Marines/Army/Navy etc. Its about integrity, honor, and being a god damned man. Obviously he is a great hitter, no question about it, but there are many occasions in which he hunts for a big hit and when you go hunting to take out another teams skill player the "Code" dictates that your actions will be answered. When he can dish it out but is immune from taking it, that's BS. That would drive me nuts as a player who tries to follow the code. If you cant see that, i dont know what to tell ya.

Good hitter, yes, but now that goons are phasing out, players who can fight and play are the next best thing. Not a low skill stay at home defender who throws the odd good hit. Prime Lucic is much more effective and valuable than a player like Emelin.

If this/these metal plate(s) were really a danger to the guys life then why is he playing without a cage? It makes no sense. He could, in theory, just as easily die from a wack from a high stick or puck as he could from a punch. No doctor, trainer, wife, etc, would clear a player to play in the NHL with out full facial protection under your imaginary circumstances, if he was allowed to play at all.

Show your doctors note or go home with your tail between your legs, I don't really care which.

Show me one video of Emelin actually fighting in his Russian hockey years. The only one found has him slapping at the other guy with his gloves on and trying to turtle but getting cold cocked instead. Yet another Habs myth shattered. And no, I wouldn't want him on the Bruins. I like players who back up their BS and drop them when challenged. Like 5' nothing Torey Krug did for a questionable hit on Shaw. Twice!

Now I think it's time for you to scurry on back to the Habs board. Shoo! Shoo!

Shattered like a Russian orbital bone.

To add, it's plain as day he's mentally weak. He got destroyed in a fight and now he's scared, I get it.

Someone gets bit by a dog, they're scared of dogs for a bit, if they're mentally strong. If they're mentally weak, they don't have the 'intestinal fortitude' (thanks Jack) to get over it.

That'll do.

Youre not on the main board.

Say goodnight Gracie.

I don't even think he's that good of a hitter. Especially when taking into account that it's the only dimension to his game.

Must be nice to have an excuse to do whatever you want without repercussions (even when those repercussions would've been far less dangerous than what might occur to you in any shift, which you're ostensibly doing nothing to avoid). That even that one fanbase buys this BS is hilarious, time for Recchi to give a second opinion

**** Emelin, a dirty coward who gets away with it cause he plays for Montreal.

But Mike, he could LITERALLY die if he gets punched in the face. But a deflected slap shot, that's okay. What kind of sadist wants to see a guy die from a punch to the face!?

I've been informed by all the medical professionals that are members of the Habs fan club. With so many doctors running around Montreal, I wonder if healthcare is practically free up there.

Emelin is dirty as hell. Whenever I'm at the game and in my regular seats for the Habs the first thing I remind myself is when the Habs are defending the goal I sit behind in the second period is watch him.

Full disclosure I find him as an old fashioned villain perversely entertaining but he is so cheap cunning dirty I think to myself plates in his noggin or not he pulls that **** I'm losing it

gudas should be insulted when compared to this guy - it's the extra unnecessary stuff

He has to be mentally challenged to act that way with plates in his head

Hes the type of player that you love to hate when you play against him but love when hes on your team. Look at Claude Julien. Hes now one of Emelin's greatest fans when he plays his game, which is making them huge legal hits. Face it guys, if he was on your team, most of you would be defending him.

Nope. Hate pieces of **** like he and Orprick.

Edit: huge difference between those schlubs and Boychuk. HUGE

I know that if I was a Bruin and he hit Pasta really hard, I would hold back McQuaid and say, "Don't do it, Adam! I know his hits are borderline and sometimes dirty, but don't do it!"

I honestly don't think you should go for the big hit if you're not going to fight.

Forget fighting, he shouldn't go for it if he couldn't take the hit himself - which, many times, logic dictates he cannot.

Habs fans and the crazy Toews ball washer are failing miserably at the Find a Marchand Turtle Video game.

It's just so easy.

There are only a few players in the NHL that I don't EVER want to see in a Bruin's uniform.

...Emelin is one of them!

Chicago won with Crawford tonight, so I wonder if the Bruins will see Darling? He's a solid backup.

Washington is losing in Arizona, but it's early. If they don't get points, Chicago is that much closer to the President's Trophy.

I just wonder how much teams really care about the President's Trophy.

I think they do only because of the home ice advantage.
