Strome has sure fallen off, dude has been terrible since his 50 point season. He has been hot lately with 6 points in 4 games, but despite that he's got a whopping 20 points. Most of what I've seen is due to lack of intensity/effort, but I only catch their games occasionally. Not sure what happened, he went from a budding impact player to a guy who gets behind the play and takes dumb penalties. It would surprise me if they protected him in the expansion draft over Nelson.
I don't see anybody talking about it, but could the Kings be interested in Bishop? How much is Tampa really going to get for him, most playoff teams that will be adding at the deadline already have a #1. There is also a connection with DL and team USA.

I don't think a goalie is our number one need right now. Budaj will be fine until Quick comes back. We need to fix our scoring situation. Jeff Carter is single handedly winning us games at this point.

He wouldn't be a rental. DL so far, has been shopping for a young LW , non rental to upgrade the top 6. Given his production, age (26) I expect he'll get a 5 yr deal at about 5.5 per. Detroit needs defense, so that would be at or close to the salary going the other way.

If the asking price on Tatar is too high, I'd inquire about Jurco. Another kid who I think could be a solid addition.

sorry, won't make that mistake again, Cruel!I agree that Budaj will probably get the Kings to the playoffs. Quick is coming off a major injury and while yes hopefully he immediately steps in and is himself, that's not a guarantee. If Quick stumbles either with recovery or his play after not playing for so long I don't think the Kings have a shot in the playoffs with Budaj. And what's not to like about a Quick/Bishop goalie tandem?
I doubt it will happen but I think Bishop would be scary combined with the Kings style of play.

Gravel made that awful line change last game that led to a goal against. You'll sit if you do that under Sutter if you're a young player.
You mean the one where he was dazed and had to get to the bench, then Brown F'd the pass in the neutral zone?
