If all it took was Muzzin/LaDue.

Lombardi would have already pulled the trigger.

Duchene is the Av's best player if you ask me. Also he is only 26 years old.

from eklund
Text from an LA source..."The deal on the table is Muzzin and #1 prospect Kempe for Matt Duchene and Francois Beauchemin...The Avalanche want LoDue.... but he is untouchable"

Was it also posted that the Mayor was saying NYR scouting Ontario/gulls.

And WTF is Beauchemin doing coming back. Cap won't work there unless they shutdown Greene the rest of the year.

Edit: The Beauchemin part makes this believable. Makes sense if Greene is out and a total Lombardi move.

I thought I had blocked Eklund from my My Space page

He is also Left handed.

Yeah, but a bottom pairing guy so Gravel or LaDue could play the off side. Plus with moving Muzzin out they'd have the same number of LHD as now. It's not like they're, allegedly, adding another on top of what they have now.

Edit: Be good to put with LaDue. Like those parachutes runners train with, if LaDue can learn to drag Beauchemin around when you drop the anchor he'll be amazing!

The deal was rumored Muzzin/LaDue going the other way.

then its a no movement clause whichever one has to be protected He has it but if he waives it to come to la would la have to honour it ? i always thought no

There are only three reasons why a trade could/would void an NTC/NMC.

1. The player voluntarily agrees to waive it for the duration of the contract - I know of no players who have done that.

2. The NTC/NMC has an explicit condition in it that states that it is voided upon a trade - I know of no SPCs which such a term.

3. If an RFA who signs a deal with a NTC/NMC, that NTC/NMC cannot go into effect until the year that the player would have become UFA eligible - if he is traded before then, the NTC/NMC is not binding on the new team unless they choose to honor it and file paperwork with the League to that effect. This case is not that uncommon.

Quote from KDB, someone much more savvy about the CBA than me.

Kings would insist he wave the NMC for the draft if he comes. Not likely Vegas would take him anyway. The more I look at the draft I think the actual draft itself will be a big yawn. Vegas will have no choice but to make deals ahead of time to keep Arizona etc. from poaching all the choice offerings before the draft.

I think DL will offer Vegas a menu -- take Brown and get a first, take Gaborik and get a 2nd etc. If you say no we will give up our best castoff to Arizona for something which is better than nothing.

Beauchemin makes sense from the Avs perspective because moving him to a contender is the only way they can get rid of him. From our perspective? yecccccch. Guy is beyond beyond done. He's Scuderi territory but with less ****s to give. Maybe that last part comes back if he's playing for his career but still.
