These refs are bending over backwards for the Russians. Russians have been slashing the whole tournament but they call little things for Canada. They aren't even IIHF refs so Gord should stop talking like they are, they seem like Alberta midget refs they way they are calling the games. Calling everything for the home team but willing to cross the line on the visitors.

The goalie sucks too, scared to challenge the shot all the time. Probably the worst out of them all, should have brought Sawchenko. He's the best goalie in junior IMO. On the second goal, Fleury should have poked the forward and force him onto his back-end instead of doing whatever the hell he was doing. McKeown should have been on his guy, that's the reason the puck got to him. McKeown not doing himself any favours this whole tournament.

Svechnikov and DeBrusk don't look like players.

Fleury looks great, going to need him to play a lot of minutes because this defense is very wanting for simple, solid play.

If Strome is going to make this team he needs to probably be more of a defensive player; underrated for his faceoffs and 2-way ability.

Yeah idk what that was. Must have thought he was still on the PK. Couple questionable decisions in his own zone. The tools are still there though.

I have a feeling the ice quality is garbage with so many Teams sharing the ice in one day.

Players are fanning on the puck all over the place, and the puck is bouncing all around.

Juulsen and Dermott both good this game. Juulsen especially exceeding my expectations.

I have seen Virtanen take some pretty stupid penalties playing for the Hitmen.

There is a reason your posts got reported and deleted in the virtanen thread.

Obviously I was talking about his grit, why are you bringing up dumb penalties with no reason what so ever.

Can someone file a missing person's report on Dylan Strome?

Seriously, I dono what it is, but the guy is nowhere to be seen, maybe the kid is nervous?, maybe he is just a guy who does not play well under pressure.

It's still so early tho, the kid could become a beast, his frame is already NHL ready

Doubt it would help at this stage.

Man, I just love Dermott. I just know hes gonna be a good player and I wanted to take him in the early 2nd with a pick. Just a complete d-man, so poised and calm, always makes the smart safe play.

Juulson is another player who has stood out for me so far, He has a pretty neat skillset.

IMO the worst player for canada in both games he has played has been roy. Absolutely nothing that stands out.

Also a stupid suicide pass that cost McCann his potential chance for canada at the WJC

It's his skating. His acceleration is horrible and he's overall slow (also not physical). He has a high hockey IQ, but doesn't translate into actions on ice imo.

I don't think it has, McCann is good enough to make it if he shows good outing to start season. His the perfect #3 centre for Canada.

I am just perplexed at strome right now, I know it's the summer, I know they are not 100% in form, but for him to play so invisible with his size and strength, it really makes me wonder if it's between his head more then his skillset.

He needs to show something, some sort of fire.

Look at ho-sang, virtanen, juulson, Fleury, Debrusk, Watson, god even McKeown who has been awful these few games is showing some serious passion and heart.

He needs to wake up in the third
