I disagree. Those three guys are all big and can skate like the wind. We are going to be very strong on the backend, especially defensively.

Plus Hicketts will help out too. Not sure who the other two will be though.
Well I hope your right but I have my doubts. I thought dermott was very impressive yesterday however.

Gauthier has had 2 bad games --- 4 Penalties in pretty limited ice time.

Roland Mckewon played pretty bad tonight as well.

I can't believe what 1 game can do for a players image, Virtanen and marner the other night looked downright incredible.

Calm down. Virtanen looked good in all the pre-tourney stuff last year, too. This is a glorified exhibition, and should do absolutely nothing when it comes to projecting these players long-term.

All he said is they both looked great last game and public perceptions of them have changed in a short time. And you tell him to calm down? What am I missing here?

What he said is 100% accurate. A prospects boom/bust status can fluctuate in a matter of hours around here.

Konecny and Point were very clearly the best players on the ice tonight. They dominated every shift they were on.

Tell me what I said is wrong

Perlini isn't going to play any more games. No info on what type of injury.

Very unfortunate. He was a standout last year at camp until a King's player slashed him and broke a bone. May have even made the team out of camp (though very unlikely).

Hopefully it isn't a big deal.

I didn't make it completely through the third period, but I liked a lot of what I saw from Canada. Very different performance than put on by the first Canadian team though. Point was easily the best player on the ice, looked great. Konecny was good, but there were times when he tried to do too much and he lost some pucks early. Barzal was disappointing at first, but came on a bit later. I have high hopes for him as a player near the bottom of the roster who gets to play against the bottom end of other teams. Fleury looked good in a pretty pronounced role. McKeown looked horrible, easily the worst defenceman in either of the two games. Hickey, who I've never seen before, looked solid defensively and might look good next to one of the more mobile defencemen. Chabot looked really good pinching without getting caught. Bleackley had a lot of puck possession in dangerous places, but that was mostly due to Virtanen driving the defence back and when he had it he didn't look dangerous enough for my liking.

Looks like the game tonight will feature most of the top defencemen but not the top forwards.

I really liked Haydn Fleury last night too. Great skater and very smart.
