did krys play after that pathetic effort on the first goal? he might have but i just didnt notice him at all. like what i saw from belpedio, borgen, carlo. werenski can play better than what he did but if we get that kind of play from our second pair D we have a good chance. need to be quicker covering in front of our own net though. canada had a guy open in front too often for my liking today.

Where are the people who were questioning if Belpedio and Borgen should be on the team now? They easily were the best D-pairing tonight.

NO! Carlo was a beast not sure why you would think he wasnt great. Played the whole game  Don't matter the better team won.:handclap:

Team USA: The Matthews, Tkachuk, Boeser line was just dominant all night. They found great chemistry, and were by far the best line on the ice. All 3 were standouts, especially on the PP where Boeser screened, Matthews drove the net, and Tkachuk was causing haven, just beautiful from the 3.

Underdog player of the game: Team USA goalie, had some great saves, some point blank.

Agree, neither team had much time or space, but we did look great in our D zone. Canada's top guys couldn't do much against them at all. Canada's D was as advertised as well, very highly contested and every inch of ice was fought for.

I would keep that line together even after DeBrincat returns.

Eansor was awful on the Strome PP goal against.

I continue to be a huge huge fan of Louie Belpedio. I argued for him to be on the team last year and this year I am completely confident in his ability to play good hockey in this top-4. Werenski, Carlo, Belpedio, and Borgen were a strong top-4, and I thought McAvoy showed well.

Borgen shocked me. I hope our defense can grow together. I think they'll get more comfortable as it goes on. Well I hope.

The big play guys came up big for the boys today. We will absolutely need that. Big win after DeBrincat got himself kicked out. Good character win.

Boeser really stepped up. And Schmaltz is night and day from last year. Good win.

Oh, TSN. Never change. Acting as if Nedeljkovic stole this game.

I still like how they are promoting the Tkachuk comment about saying Marner plays like a rat as some trash talk or whatever. Their headline makes it seem he is making fun of his appearance.

It's the Canadian persona. It's frustrating at times. Shots are 27-25, Canada had a 5 min pp and almost 2 minutes with an extra attacker. And they act like our goalie just had 60 saves and broke a world record

He didn't steal it, and they didn't say he did.

But he was the difference, which is what they said.

Why do fans always go completely overboard on the hyperbole??

I thought the game was pretty closely contested and it came down to an odd bounce but as a Canadian I admit Canadians that are normally more passive can be arrogant when it comes to a hockey superiority complex.

Intense group of fans when it comes to hockey domestic or international. I blame in on the cold winters and the lack of other hobbies.

Bob Mackenzie is now reporting there will be a Hockey Canada state of the game emergency meeting at the Mastercard Center in Toronto tonight at 7 pm.

Cuz they lost a preliminary round game? Did they think this team was as good as the team they had last year or something? That group was stacked.

Yes. Should be interesting. Going to be on TSN tonight at 7. They're trying to appeal to the IIHF to add Aaron Ekblad to the roster for their next game.

Perversely I don't like winning this prelim games. Canada plays best when challenged and their backs against the wall. Everytime we beat them in the prelims they seem to beat us in the knockouts and vice versa.
