Don't know if it's been posted; basically says Toronto and Sweden are in constant contact. It's a suspected concussion and that as of Monday morning Nylander has been walking around the motel lobby. That Sweden is hopeful he'll be ready for the playoff portion of the tourney, and that Toronto supports him playing if he's cleared. (It does imply they (Toronto) could step in - but wont be)

Haven't been able to watch any of the games. Would definitely appreciate an update on J. Forsbacka-Karlsson.

Thanks so much!

JFK was very impressive against USA, probably our best forward. He just breaks up plays everywhere with his stick and his body. He is also the guy who takes all the key draws and wins a lot of them.

Did anyone actually confirm that Nylander had a concussion? Or are they following protocol, just in case? I don't think he's had any symptoms whatsoever. Probably because the initial impact of the hit was on his shoulder. So if he never had one, he could easily play tomorrow.

I think they are just being cautious, the hit looked pretty violent. I find it interesting the doctor calls it an "injury on the right side of the upper body", is that really how you would describe a concussion?

usually in the nhl/ahl doctors and teams just say upper body injury when concussions happen.

ok, had been reading this board for ages and decided to join the fun.

We won the group again :)

Yeah, the streak continues. 10 years now I believe?

We will reach the semifinal once again too, unless something goes terribly wrong.

Hopefully willie will be back by the game vs Canada, if we get passed quarter we will either meet Finland or Canada again for semi.

Our defence is pretty horrible at handling the puck, aside from Forsling and.....Anaheim's pick, what's his name....Jacob Larsson?

Not very fast either. Hope we don't have to face Finland. Would be heartbreaking to lose to them after last WJC, where we outplayed them badly but still lost.

Finland is supposed to always lost to use, I don't like this disturbance in the force!!

If/when William comes back I do not think he shall play with Alex and Timashov, that line is the only real working line, and that is even without William, so he do more use in a different line.

That 4th line is just horrible. I do not get why they get praise by the commentators, they are hardly any offensive threat, but I guess the bar is set very low for them so all they have to do is doing some forecheck.

Grönborg has expected taking out to many grinders, that 4th line is just horrible. I do not get why they get praise by the commentators, they are hardly any offensive threat, but I guess the bar is set very low for them so all they have to do is doing some forecheck.

The defense was however very good against USA, surprise by how good they where.

Holmstrom looks like poop. He needs someone else to carry the ouck while he creates space infront of the goal. That line doesn't work at all. Feel bad for Kempe who gets no help at all.

You skipped a year? In the last WJC you beat us soundly in the quarters.

Right now it's looking like the winner of Finland and Canada will play Sweden in the semifinal.

Yep it was evident that Kempe had a gear that Lindblom and Holmström didn't (maybe Holmström does, skill wise that is but his skating holds him back)

Yeah Holmström hasnt have the best tournament this year. Maybe he could work with Nylander, but he isnt that good so we should try to adjust the team for making him work. I think Lindblom and Kempe is better players.

With William.

Lindblom - Nylander - Kempe
Nylander - Asplund - Timashov
Eriksson Ek - Forsbacka Karlsson - Holmström
Karlsson/Lööke - Ehn - Grundström

Without William

Lindblom - Forsbacka Karlsson - Kempe
Nylander - Asplund - Timashov
Eriksson Ek - Holmström - Grundström
Lööke - Ehn - Karlsson

I have a feeling that it will be Finland. Canada just isn't clicking. I had them at 2nd initially, but I'm just not seeing them as one of the stronger medal candidates at this point. Something is really off about that team. I'm not seeing a team that really wants to win. Canada are known for occasionally struggling initially, and they usually turn things around, but they don't have the material to bruteforce their opponents this time around.
I would also put my money on Russia being Sweden's potential opponent in the final. It looks like a pretty solid and well rounded team, and they seem to have that scoring edge.

I hope William is back for the Canada game. I was so excited to watch him with Sweden in this tourney. Very sucky.

Finland as favorite? That could only end in one way.
