Don't forget to mention that Laine can't skate.![]()
Huh? He has been progressing skating-wise quite well actually.

Maybe Jalonen could test Aho with Rantanen, have a great 2way line or Laine with Rantanen, have a heavy line with a sniper.
Well, there we have it. Didn't even have to wait 'til Boxing Day.Rantanen-Hintz-Kapanen and Puljujärvi-Aho-Laine pretty much confirmed lines.
I never said they would not be able to compete. Let me clarify. Finland has a very good team, in my opinion them, they are in the top 3 with Canada and the US. However, in my opinion, their defence and goaltending will let them down in the end, thus preventing them from winning it all.
Canada does not have any top end talent this year. However they have a lot of depth.
*** Hintz just 1 goal,4 assists (15)this season for HIFK,
why he should be the first line center?
Why Jalonen dude insists on forcing Pulju and Laine in the same line. It won't give any synergies but rather cuts down Pulju's effieciency and scoring and will wear on him and his moral.
There is a silent and audible rivalry between them aswell; and them playing in the same line won't help getting the best out of the rivalry but rather the worst.

Jalonen, wake the **** up!
If the supposed third line really is Saarela-Nättinen-Repo that showed flashes of brilliance on Monday, it very much fills the requirements of a third scoring unit.I'm just feeling that instead of 3 scoring lines we are ending up with 2, and don't like that, thought it was going to be our strenght this year.
Again, everything's relative. For a Canadian, it may seem that they don't have all that much top end talent. It's an even group, and a deep one, but the supposed top prospect is still missing. How about no.
Yes you do have, and quality depth.

But I have to admit, ATM I'm a bit worried that Repo's lackluster effort last night hurt his chances of making the team. I hope not, but I guess we'll know in a couple of hours. It might be wanton pessimism, but it seems to be the norm these days that you get one shock cut, and the rest of the designated top-9 seem to be safe.
Oh well, couple more hours and we'll know.

In a similar manner, for a Finn, our team appears pretty damn stacked - while in head-to-head comparison our troop and Canada's probably more or less even out.
They're good, but not McDavid/Eichel/Matthews kind of good, which may be a bit underwhelming. For a Canadian, I mean. Especially since the tournament also features individuals who may be even a bit better, like Willy Nylander and our very own Rantanen. What are Marner& Strome if not elite prospects, one of top prospects in the World outside the NHL?
Now, let's just hope he doesn't stub his toe onto the doorstep as he walks into the locker room. #antijinxSo, the plane has landed safely and Mikko Rantanen has arrived at Helsinki & will join the team at Hartwall Arena 10 am, albeit not yet on the ice.
