Yikes...although, given the CHL is in bed with Hockey Canada, I can't see Blackwood getting a long enough suspension he'd miss WJC. I was looking at Barrie's schedule and so long as the suspension is five or fewer games he won't miss any WJC games.

Ya, that's exactly what I was thinking as well.

I see alot of people with Hicketts on the first pair. If that is the case this team is going to be aweful. I also see people putting him on the team while having players like Dermott and Chabot on he sidelines. Both of who are much better players, with Chabot skating ability and poise with the puck I would be shocked if he isn't on the team.

Better get used to it. He's going to play a lot. ES, PP, PK. Jankowsi loooooves him and Lowry is obviously the head coach.

Ryan Jankowski seems to love small defensemen. When he was the head of scouting for the Islanders he drafted a lot of small D : Katic, Ness, Spurgeon, etc.

Ehh just have to accept that he is an inevitability as the only defenceman from last year eligible to return and his coach as the coach of the team. I found that Hicketts stood out in a bad way last year (he and Heatherington over Bigras is... perplexing) and I don't know that much has changed. He certainly shouldn't be top pairing though. It will bring back memories of Don Hay trying to shove Gallagher down the throats of every country in a top six role.

Where did he hit the guy? If it's head he should be suspended like half a season, if it's body(below shoulders) 5 games sound fair

Certainly looks like a shoulder chop. I would be shocked if he misses the WJC due to that. Very stupid on Blackwood's part though.

I certainly hope that McKenzie's comments on Dal Colle and Perlini (that they seem likely/useful at this point) are purely his opinion and not based on inside knowledge. His inside knowledge is solid, but his opinions are generally too conservative. This isn't a "tournament for 19 year olds" and high draft positions are not going to wow the opposition into submission.

Even though we're hurting for right wingers, Konecy in my opinion has to step up. I see him on everybody's roster, including my own but he hasn't done much lately and didn't do anything against the Russians in the SSS. Even though he's used to the big ice in Ottawa I think he still needs to score more in order to really make this team. Great skater but needs to produce more.

Watson - Barzal - Marner
Point - Beaullivier - Gauthier
Crouse - Strome - Hawrylyk
Perlini - Chartier - Konecy
Dal Colle

Hicketts - Dermott
Mckeown - Fleury
Sanheim - Walman
Chychrun

Blackwood
McDonald

Your D is lined up wrong. Hicketts would be on the right, same with McKeown.

Not sure what you are referring to.

He played 1 games of the Subway SS and only 2 forwards had points that game.

And this year, he has 40 points in 26 games. Is that not good?

That analyse by Bob Mckenzie look to me very "OHL/Ontario" especially when talking about players fighting for a spot. About the forwards, he only talked about 4 players from the OHL (Dal Colle, Perlini, Stephens and Watson). And about the defense, he talked a little bit of the only 2 RH shot we have (McKeown and Juulsen) and of course about the Toronto native Walman.

Is that analyse was for all people living in Canada or just for Ontario? :dunno:
