Pavel Zacha's has the physical build to play in the NHL soon. Seems like his stock was falling a little bit since the start of the season. Not sure if he'd be there for the Kings pick, but it does seem possible.

After a brief read up on him, he looks good. I'd pick him :)

I'm hoping to get a Kings fan to GM in my Post Lottery 5 Round Mock which starts tomorrow. Either PM me or use the signup thread if interested.

This lot did quite a good write up on him.

Sounds a little Dustin Brownish.

There article showed quite a range of rankings for him, so I guess he could fall to 13

I don't know the draft class well enough to make an assessment, but Zacha definitely has the size and skill set the Kings would be looking for in a center, which is where I would hope the Kings would use him.

The Kings development system is 2nd to none in the NHL right now. I have confidence that whoever the Kings draft will be an NHL player.

What the heck was this?! Too much wine? The Kobayashi Maru was a test of a no-win scenario to gauge the resolution of the candidate. If anything, the Edmonton Oilers are the best example of a Kobayashi Maru. Poor team has been in a no-win scenario since Ke$ha had hits on the radio.

Given how poor Kings have drafted in the first round past #5, I'm just hoping we go for a high skilled forward, should it be the best player available.

Dean, like Kirk, doesn't believe in now win scenarios. ;)

I look at what we've been doing with late firsts and second rounders and drool at the idea of a guy with high-first talent getting into our system. Perfect chance to get a top-six forward that we will need going forward.

I also wonder if we have a Jamie Benn in our system, late rounder who fell and just blows up for us at some point, that would really put us over the top.

Ditto. Manchester is an NHL product factory. 15 players on this team are home grown talent. Remarkable.

While I know what you mean, but I had to post this:

And Edmonton gets the 1st overall pick. Ugh.

Horrible management gets rewarded again.

So pretty much lookin at history we're not getting anyone special! Great! :sarcasm:

I know all of Canada is all over McDavid, and they'll show you a few thousand highlights reel goals to prove the point, but so WHAT if a kid can go around and between kids his own age, which happens when you play junior hockey, and are advanced. It can remind you of the ice mite at age four that could go coast to coast. I've watched Eichel play quite a bit, and his skating, ease of play, playmaking, and pure talent are amazing as well. What he did this year at BU playing against mostly kids that were 3-5 years older than him was very good. I think McDavid is more like the Hall or Yakapov mold. Eichel is more the Tavares mold. I really believe getting Eichel will be great for Buffalo.

Only McDavid's numbers are up there with those posted by Crosby, Gretzky, Lindros, etc. He's not just some Corey Locke, he's putting up once a decade type stuff.

If you think McDavid is even remotely close to Yakupov, I'd question if you've even seen the kid. Watch him, he's stoll playing in the playoffs and could be in the Mem Cup.

Nothing against Eichel, he'd be a clear number one in any other year, but McDavid and Eichel is like Crosby and Kopitar in terms of value. Both are great but one is otherworldly when healthy.
