Got some interesting links here to ponder upon....

- After acquiring Yandle, apparently NYR asked Arizona about Shane Doan, but talks went nowhere quickly. Apparently NYR also tried really hard to sign Doan back in 2012.

- Apparently in this link it is all said and done that Martin St. Louis will not be coming back on Broadway. Says if he decides to keep playing, Montreal is a possibility.
http://snyrangersblog.com/2014-15/2...rs/?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed

- With St. Louis heading out, another old guy donning a Ranger sweater, Dan Boyle, is staying with the team. Says here he doesn't plan to retire and that he will not waive his no movement clause.
http://snyrangersblog.com/2014-15/2...on/?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed

- This article suggests that NYR should target Carl Soderberg. It is pretty intriguing...
http://bluelinestation.com/2015/06/14/should-the-new-york-rangers-pursue-carl-soderberg/

- I think the most juicy news coming today, however, is that there is MASSIVE and SIGNIFICANT interest in Cam Talbot around the NHL. Said in a majority of articles that teams think he's the best available option in net for this open market. Said that even teams that would need him as a backup are calling NYR for a price. Said also that the Rangers are looking to "maximize a return" of draft picks. Stay tuned this week and next as NYR will most definitely be in the market before the draft.

Get a bidding war going for Talbot. Edmonton is apparently willing to part with #16 overall. Get Dallas or San Jose to give up the #12 or #9 and run away laughing.

If indeed the Rangers have the Edmonton offer in hand, the reason it's out there is the Rangers likely leaked it to smoke out other better offers. 1st round draft picks are good. 1sts and a player might be even better, the right player(s) could be the best.

As I have said before, don't discount Dallas. They would have made the playoffs last year with decent goaltending. You have no idea how many games it cost them.

Buffalo and Toronto were the two teams "reportedly" looking at ROR during the season.

Yandle to the Avs. ROR to the Avs. JVR to the Rangers.

The Rangers need more offense. They need to replace the 21 goals by MSL.

JVR has a good hit of $4.25M for the next 3 years and he still a young guy at 26.

The Avs get their defenseman. The Leafs get a player they can build their new regime around. Shanahan will be the GM with input from Mark Hunter,Kyle Dubas and the other twenty Maple Leafs front office members.

There is this for Sather, his potential successor and coach Alain Vigneault to consider while mulling the composition of next year’s roster: 13 of 19 playoff games with two goals or fewer this year, after 14 of 25 last year after 8 of 12 in 2013 after 13 of 20 in 2012.

We have a trade. The Dallas Stars trade the 12th overall pick to the New York Rangers for Cameron Talbot.

With the 12th overall pick the New York Rangers proudly select Riley Bruce

Totally unexpected to me. Was very high on Lehtonen. Maybe the arrival of Seguin and Spezza changed something for him and the chemisty. But yeah they need better goaltending, and I think they'll stick with Lehtonen to provide it.

-----------------

All this Talbot Schneider comparison stuff is silly to me.

Schneider is/was better/more proven and so on. Obv Talbot needs to play more in order to be even able to prove himself. Hope the EDM deal goes down, so he can do it there. Talbot/Scriv, high risk-high reward potential goaltending in EDM.

edit: If Dallas offers the 12th OV straigh up. No question we do that.

That's an awful deal for the Rangers.

Read that the Avalanche like Jake Gardiner. If ROR goes to Toronto, I'd imagine that Gardiner and a pick/prospect go to Colorado in return.

It's kind of a bad spot. Let's say you ask him and he says no. He'll be pissed or hurt. Maybe that'll make him perform his ass off next season. To me Boyle is 38. He should be that to y'all too.

This offseason is going to be awful. Literally every rumor besides Talbot for the 16th is just terrible in every way.
