Sounds good so far. Can't wait to see the kid at the main camp this year.

Speed and a quick transition game are vital in the league nowadays.

I made a compilation of most of Chabot's shifts from the last game against the Czech's. As mentioned before he is #6 and is playing the left side, partnered with Leblanc (#5). He played very little on the PP and even less so on the PK. Unfortunately HS had some early game issues and so I could not capture the first 14mins of the first period. Hope at least one person finds this useful/entertaining.

Glad to see him playing with Hicketts on what seems to be the top pair, hopefully management likes how they play together and takes it into the tournament.

Well, guys like Fleury, Sanheim, Dermott, Juulson, Hickey aren't playing tonight.

Chabot has certainly helped his case through the first 4 periods.

This is how he plays the game. Highly mobile, puck mover who jumps into the play.

I'm thinking more defensively.

Kid has nice wheels and the offensive side of the game looks good.....but man, is he ever raw.

Extremely passive on the defensive side of the ice. Has a lot to learn there. Positioning and decision-making with the puck in his zone are a bit off...not sure if jitters there. Also very weak physically. His passing is a bit off....almost like he's using a stick that's a bit too long.

Has some nifty tools to work with, but definitely a kid that's going to take a while before he's ready.......if this game is any indication.

I'm not sure I saw him get put in a position to get out-muscled all game long, though that is one part of his game that needs improvement for sure.

I don't know, I didn't see any bad decision making aside from one time he held on to the puck too long in the second coming out of his own zone.

I agree with a lot of this. That being said physical maturity is mostly likely going to be developed. I do worry about his aggression though. Hard to tell in international, but when I watch Saint John's this year I'll be watching his net presence an awful lot.

My god does he skate well though

I should have specified, I did not see any of that this game. The defensive end, strength, and decision making are what he will be improving on throughout the year.

His passing and vision is among the tops in the draft for defenders.

For me, it seemed like he was doing a lot of gliding outside the play and watching. It almost felt like he wasn't quite sure where to be at times around the net. He wasn't really in position to intercept passes in front of the net, and also wasn't in position to cover his man. Seemed passive and unsure of himself.

Now, it could be the effect of being on a newly assembled team with a bunch of guys he doesn't know, and being the summer rust showing.

I like his skating, some good offensive vision there, good height. But, he's definitely a guy we need to take our time with. It will probably be best for him (after his junior career is over) to spend a couple seasons in Bingo to develop the rest of his game (and strength).

I like the kid, but he's definitely not going to be a Lazar or Zibby type who can step into the NHL in a hurry. We need to show a lot of patience with this kid and make sure he has the proper foundation under him before giving him NHL games.

I liked what I saw of him. Certainly belongs. Good mobility. Good first pass backhand or forehand. Reads well. Supports well. Jumps into the play. He is good.

Great skater, very very good passer. Offensively minded.

Doesnt play a physical game or jump out at you defensively but that can certainly be taught as he looks like he has the tools

Brilliant skater. Great skater is an understatement. His skating is so good he can make risky plays and still recover, not at the level of Karlsson but it's a rare asset. Has a real good head for the game, he plays the game to his strength and although he need physical maturity, he doesn't put himself in those situations where it becomes a concern over the course of a game. Excellent passer as well.

Thank u very much for the video compilation my friend, is there anyway you can do one with Colin White? I think he could be just as impressive to watch him with the little plays.

I thought the comments from the org describe him well - he's a guy that will go back in the zone and get the puck and get it out. It will be a hot knife through butter with that skating and passing. He handles the puck in front of him allowing easy forehand and backhand outlets. There is so little wasted time getting the puck off his stick.

I don't think he needs a physical game - he just needs to get better with the stick and body positioning. Hopefully is anticipation develops as well. something he could be well served by watching EK. He's going to be a stud in the transition game imo.
