He'll probably be back after the trade deadline. Khalifa AND Klinkhammer

Could be dealt at the deadline as a depth forward for the playoffs. I don't know that we bring him up after the deadline as I don't think he has a future with us. Guys like Khaira, Slepy, Kessy etc make more sense getting the call.

Good to see a lot of guys getting hot at the right time.

Man i wish Klinkhammer was even half as good in the NHL as he is down there.

Quite dominate at the ahl level.

He's got size and speed, two things that even by themselves can normally let one dominate the AHL.

And honestly if he could just improve his overall play just a bit, it wouldn't surprise me to see him back in the NHL. He was passable defencively, and good on the forecheck, but as we all know his line always struggled horiblely in the possession battle.

Right now they've got Hendricks, Pakarinen, Klinkhammer, Pitlicks, Khaira, and possibly also Kessy as guys I like as 4th liners. Big, fast, and willing to play physical, and not a defensive liability. (Though I avoid guys like Hamilton, Pinizzotto, and Gazdic as they just can't skate or control the puck well enough)

I'm not a fan of having guys like Lander, Letestu, and even Korpikoski on the 4th, as I feel that robs you of what the line should be doing. None of them are elite defencive specialists, and they bring little else to the lineup.

Agreed except for Letetsu.

Good penalty killer and has a good offensive instinct, just not a great accurate shot.

Yeah. Any hot streak is a good sign for the Oilers.

Yeah Letestu is perfectly fine on the 4th line. He's positionally sound and pretty smart on both sides of the puck. He's not overly big or physical, but he's not afraid to go into the tough areas either. Give him 2 big physical guys who can win board battles and cycle the puck and you have a good 2-way 4th line that can chip in offence.

As much as I love Hendricks he's starting to slow down and doesn't bring a ton offensively. A good guy to keep around now, but I'd hope some of the big physical guys on the farm can step in soon and bring more offensively. Khaira is probably the most likely and could end up a 3rd liner if his offence keeps progressing. Hopefully one of Pitlick, Kessy, Moroz, or Yakimov (if he comes back) can also step into that role soon. I didn't mention Slepy, because I hope once he gets a little more comfortable on NA ice that he can be a middle 6 guy.

TM wants Hendricks on the wing for this very reason. It doesn't help us that Hendricks mind only has one gear.

okay then

Yeah. Interesting autocorrect eh?

Either way, glad to see Khaira turning it up. Maybe in two weeks we see him back with the big club.

I just noticed every team is at 76 games. Maybe he should stay down for the playoffs.

I am always impressed with the farm team. Always finds ways to win.

The Pacific plays less games. I think it is 66 total. Play offs are determined by win percentage and not points. Today we are in third place.

Stauffer asking Fleming about Moroz and how he's faring with his concussion, Fleming said Moroz went in for some tests and said they "didn't go well", so he's going in for further CAT scans (I think that's what he said).

Feel bad for Mitch, hope he can get himself healthy.

Hell be a good 4th liner with 3rd line upside, maybe Brodziak potential? Hell be valuable because he has some skill, a ton of size, plays a possession game and a strong defensive forward (atleast in junior days). And hell be cheap

He made a pretty big jump from last year, and I expect/hope Chase, Slepyshev and Platzer will make similar jumps. They'll have an offseason to train and will have a full year of pro experience. First year of pro is normally a blood bath for junior players

I still think Platzer will shock a lot of people, as well as Slepyshev

He's a beast on the forecheck as well. Looking so far so good for him now; it'd be nice to see him pan out and establish himself in the NHL.

Well, guess the Condors can kiss the playoffs goodbye with Purcell, Nilsson, and Schultz getting traded for picks and an ECHL goalie today. Brossoit called up this morning and presumably a forward and D-man to be called up soon...bummer.

Not to say that they weren't trades that the Oilers had to make. In fact, it's a pretty good return for the players that they dumped, but the side effect is brutal for the Condors. My guess is Klinkhammer and either Reinhart or Nikitin get the call.

Pitlick probably makes the most sense to call up. He needs to show he can play or the Oilers just cut ties at the end of the year. They will likely bring in another defenseman though.

Pitlick has looked good the second half of the year. Pretty injury prone though, so I'm not sure you waste too much effort on giving him an NHL shot. The Condors have been giving tons of ice time to Gadzic-Currie-Kessy the last few games. I could see Kessy getting called up to add some grit to the Oilers lineup. He's probably not much more than a 4th line pest, but the Oilers could stand to be a bit harder to play against.

I'd be surprised if Klinkhammer didn't get the call and see if he can bottle some of that lightning he's displaying in the AHL and unleash it in the NHL. There's a lot to be said about momentum.

Maybe, but I'd sooner see what Kessy can bring. If we deal Korpi and Hendricks perhaps we could see both called up.
