Hockey needs to get out of the dark ages. Disgusting.

On a much more positive note Winquist really is an intriguing player. He looked great at camp and is putting up the points in the AHL this year as well. I really wonder who the Oilers have in this kid.

Someone mentioned he is slow, and if that's the case then he might be one of those guys who can never move beyond the AHL level, no matter what his production is there, but it'll be interesting to see how he progresses.

I wouldn't say he's slow. He's a bit of a lurker. He appears in the right place at the right time with regularity. Real good hockey sense.

That's Winquists game. Right spot right time. He also has a wicked shot and a nice pair of hands. I'm just curious if his physical game has translated to pro? I watched him a ton in junior and he was very chippy and never shy to get involved physically. Is that still the case now?

McGratten got knocked unconscious in a fight last night.

Pretty scary looking. Hope he's OK.

I don't. The guy is a big part of the "the dark ages" of hockey. He ended Andrew Alberts career, and he was the guy who just recently crosschecked Moroz in the throat so hard that he started puking blood. Guy finally just got a taste of what he's been dolling out his entire career. I hope that physically he's alright, but I hope that can't play again.

His physical game is pretty run of the mill. I'd say he's not particularly noticeable unil he appears in the right spot when nobody expects it. He's got great hands and a good shot.

Hunt, Reinhart and Kassian were all assigned to the Condors. Big news for the team as all of these can contribute at the AHL level.

They will be good help for the weekend, but after all star break you likely lose two of the three again.

What Does This Mean for Norfolk

Just checking to see if Norfolk will be the beneficiary of these 3 getting send down? If so who do you think may be heading East?

Will McDavid be suiting up for a game? I was surprised to see his name on the AHL transactions list.

Chiarelli would lose his job if McDavid suited up for an AHL game. No way theyd risk an injury with McDavid in the AHL given the nature of player in AHL (all desperate depth guys hoping to make a name for themselves)

Good game so far, 6-3 for Bakersfield, Hunt w/ 2 assists, Reinhart and Kassian with 1 each.

Winquist with another goal and an assist. Sign this kid.

Hamilton with a three point night.

It's really too bad about his skating. If he had better wheels he'd be an NHLer.

I could see Winquist on McDavid's line in a year or two. Pure goal scoring type of guy.
