That's ok, Sabourin has been told by everyone that he'll never make it in minor hockey AAA,Tier 2 Jr.A OHL.AHL? I guess he'll just have to prove himself again.Too bad Stothers never gave Sabby a chance buried him last season after 7 games and 5 points playing with Dowd and Vander Guilick, then healthy scratch the whole playoffs.not a game, I though Stothers would at least give him a chance? Stothers was himself a proud AHL goon and obviously thinks the same thing about Sabby, how else can you explain his non playing time under Stothers? We know he can play, why else would LA sign him to a 3 year entry level contract? But I guess the LA organization gives away ELC to anyone right?

Kind of a weird sword to fall on, but almost all of your posts in the last several years have to do with Sabourin and his untapped potential and never-say-die attitude...

Yes, he will in fact have to prove himself some more.

He has been playing a lot lately, and I can just tell you from watching him live all season that most of the little things that make a terrific pro NHL player are just lacking. Hockey IQ is below average. I am not saying he completely lacks skill and does not have some redeeming abilities. He works hard, sticks up big time for his team mates, and is probably liked in the dressing room, but he does not look like an NHL player to me. I have been a die Kings hard fan since the mid 70's and am currently a Reign season-ticket holder, and believe I have pretty decent judgment. In fact, when I saw Sabourin in his early days when trying to impress for a deal, and he had a terrific game against the Ducks rookies, I was pretty impressed. I just don't think it's going to happen for him, at least not in this organization. He is an RFA after this season. It would not shock me if that didn't tender him a QO.

Exclusive quotes from Tuesday's win over the Stars, which includes Mike Stothers staring down a certain JFTC reporter + we learn Nic Dowd's favorite junk food:

Ontario Reign Postgame Quotes: Stothers, Dowd, Budaj, Gravel

Ontario reigns over the Pacific with three All-Star player selections and one coach:

Ontario Reign's Budaj, LoVerde, Mersch & Stothers Are AHL All-Stars

And from today's practice, Stothers tells us, "Hugs usually work better" + new All-Star LoVerde talks about last Sunday's moment of doubt:

Ontario Reign Practice Quotes: Stothers, LoVerde

They sure looked good last night compared to recent play. Kempe makes the offensive depth so much greater, Army has done a nice job filling in at the #2 center, and Backman had his best game in a while. Forbort was okay, but he got schooled in the 1st and was bailed out by Budaj twice, who was channeling Jonathan Quick last night making several great saves.

So have the Reign just given up on having any footage/highlights of their games?

Seems a bit preposterous to me that they can't have highlights from all of their games in this day and age.

What do you mean? All my recaps include video highlights. If you don't want to go through my recaps, I usually pull the highlights from the AHL website, which has every game, I think. Also, ieProSports has HD highlights from home games sometimes.

I think he meant via the team.

It is goofy that they're not on the Reign site but instead are on the AHL site.

Oh, sorry, I didn't realize that was the point! I'll ask somebody at the Reign about that, maybe there's a good reason?

EDIT: It's something they're working on.

Fan of Justin auger. I believe he will do well in a bottom 6 NHL role one day.

It says Sabourin has played 25 games. So that means he has only missed what, 6 games?

I remember the camp he had 2 seasons ago, he was dominant.

Scratched again last night. Since the Reign have back to back to back, maybe he will play tonight or Sunday. I agree about camp a couple years ago, but I don't think he has the hockey IQ for the next level.

Sabourin might be one of those guys where his game translates better in the NHL.

If Kings ever deal Nolan, he is the replacement....literally...a big lefty who has some offensive potential.

Kitsyn is leading his team in goals and +/- .............

AIUI, Kubilik's season has ended with him leading the Czech lead in goals and points. Bring him to Ontario!!!

No. Hasn't proven he has any offensive potential at this level yet. If he can't do it at the AHL level, why would he be able to do it at the NHL level? He has 20 goals in 150 career AHL games. Only 8 in his last 76.

If the Kings ever deal Nolan the replacement better be Adrian Kempe or Michael Mersch. I know the Kings like dressing a tough guy, but Sabourin has to prove he has at least some facet of skill to his game before we start saying he has an NHL-level game that can translate.

Is Loverde a potential NHL defensemen? His points are up this season, but I don't know about his defense. Possible 6-7 one day?

He could. It would have to be like a Bodnarchuk scenario where he gets his chance with a team that might be a little thin on the backend. He is a pretty well-rounded Dman, just doesn't do anything overtly spectacular.

LoVerde is 26 years old, under 6'0'', and not particularly gifted offensively. He is a steady guy at AHL level but not particularly good at anything. He does not have any NHL future in front of him.
