Definitely understand the C for Eichel, this tournament is basically headlined Eichel vs McDavid. He is a returner and made a big impact last year. Not a bad pick. And I understand the Butcher pick, being a returner and an integral piece on the back end. Hayden kind of surprises me. In my eyes he was fighting for a spot on this team from the start, but seems to have shown the staff something that we arent seeing, intangibles. This team is good

Canadian fan coming in peace but I strongly feel this will be Eichel's tourney and after this tournament, the McDavid VS Eichel will be EXTREMELY close. A lot more people will prefer Eichel over McDavid in my opinion after the tournament

Originally I thought the final cuts would come down to Wood vs. Cassels and Bracco vs. Louis. But given that it seems like Compher and Motte could be destined for the bottom 6 than I think it could be Bracco vs. Louis vs. De Leo for 1 cut and Wood vs. Cassels for the other.

And also some fans are already giving him a pass cause Canada went with an extremely skilled scoring team this year and he wont be counted on as much as Eichel is counted on to his team... Also with the tourney being in Canada, Eichel will want to show Canada fans what he can do. Because we don't see him at all due to NCAA games not really being shown here

Santini/Compher/Motte can be leaders without letters. I wouldn't read that much into it.

Hope to see santini cleared to play as that would be a big boost to the backend. Should be interesting to see if anyone plays bad enough tonight to let cassels and Louis back into the picture

The captaincy talk rarely ends up the way we all think. At Summer Camp it seemed like Compher would get it. We don't know if it was a player's vote or not either. Letters are overrated anyway.
Nope. He was never going to play in any of the exhibition games. He just had his cast/pins removed but he did do a full practice today in a regular jersey having removed his non-contact jersey.
I would imagine they're going to monitor Santini as necessary to see if they think he can go based on his practices. They could even withhold naming the last d-man and keep Santini and another around until they're sure of what to do like they did in 2013.
Really doesn't matter who wears the letters.At this level most of the players are leaders on their own teams anyway.You could probably pick names out of a hat and be happy with the result.

I've read a bunch already and he hasn't even been outplayed in the tournament yet. Eichel has been chasing a ghost they were never going to let him catch anyway.
Lets not act like posters won't be giving excuses if Eichel has a less than stellar tournament.
