"Men jag både hoppas och tror att det här svenska laget kan slå Kanada.
Sverige slog ju Lettland med två mål fler än kanadensarna gjorde."

Wennerholm:facepalm: when did he hade a number right last time?

Granberg? Sure he is solid and he will probably be ok, and can fill a defensive deep role, but we already have those players in the team. I do not really see the point of filling out the team this early, you do not need 8 d-men and 23-25 players totally, you only need 6 d-men and 20 players totally to get a full team. Couldnt they have wait and see if Brodin comes? Why do we need to add a defensive deep d-men as the 8th d-men this early?

With that said, I wouldnt have mind it at all if Brodin would have rejected the invitation.

Nothing saying we can't add a 9th D instead of a 14th forward if it ever comes to that.

"Och jag sitter här och undrar hur Sverige ska ha skuggan av en chans mot samma Kanada i morgon.
Dagens svar på The Big Red Machine.
Det bästa och mest talangfulla Kanada jag någonsin sett i en VM-turnering."

How short memory do he has? You only have to go back to 2013 to find a a smiliar hype canadian team, and red machine? Not a very good machine that have lost 5 times in a row in the q-final. Come on, respect the result. Canada should earn the hype not get it for free always, and right now they are far from earning it no matter what happens in this game or tournament.

Countries like Finland deservers much more respect, canada much much lesser.

However in this game I do not really care much about the results, it is not now we should win. It is off course good to win. But to me it is more importent how we play. Btw I do not know if I want russia in a possible semi-finals. Russia is so unpredictable.

That is true, but then the team become little unbalanced, plus we could end up have to choose between, Bäckström or Brodin. Normally you do not play with 8 d-mean, so I find this unnecessary. But Granberg was good 2 years ago, lets hope he can be this time also.

Canada is not that special on D, only the top pairing (Hamhuis - Burns) hold a high standard, the rest are adequate, but nothing special. Their forward depth is great, but a lot of their stars haven't produced yet (Seguin and MacKinnon most prominently). They have a great team, and a great chance to win, but I was much more scared around 2002-2004 when players like Bouwmeester, Heatley and Luongo always brought their super A+ game to the WHC. Many of the leaders of this Canadian team still have questions that they haven't answered yet.

Not this year. Look at the team that Canada has.

Most, of the Canadian team wouldn't make the team if everyone was available. Some of those who have been on Team Canada in the past wouldn't have been considered for a representative Canadian team based on this season if the best players were available. Canada's goaltending looks weak. Smith may be recognized by Europeans but he was 67th in the NHL in save % this season.

Even with Crosby and Seguin on the team interest from Canadian hockey fans is pretty limited.

For me:
1. Backstrom
2. Backlund (although I hear he is not coming anyway)
3. Brodin

(I assume Tampa will beat MTL, otherwise Hedman would slot in at no 3 and Stralman no 4)

I have no idea what the point of the first part of your post is? It is so tiring to keep on hearing this... It is the same for most freakin' teams. Do you want to compare, relatively, the players who declined for SWE vs CAN? Our 1st line center is Lander, 2nd line center is Ericsson/Sjogren and our 3rd line center is Rask while Sedin, Zetterberg, Berglund, Ziban and Soderberg all declined and Backstrom, Backlund are still playing.

Take a look at basically any position on the Swedish team and you'll see the same story.

LW: Sedin, Steen, Landeskog, Hagelin; RW: Nyqvist, Hornqvist, Silfverberg, Franzen; D: Karlsson, Kronwall, Hjalmarsson, Hedman, Stralman, Brodin, Edler, Lindholm; GK: Lundqvist...

You have it waaaay better than us so if you want to complain about not having the best available players go somewhere else. No one here cares.

I guess he was right after all.

Granberg, OEL & Ekholm were great. Klingberg was good in the first but made some bad mistakes after that. Klefbom was pretty bad, caused 2 goals against. Our D looked okay overall.

Klefbom is the most up and down of our D. His normal level is middle of the pack but he makes the worst mistakes. Guess his inexperience shows.

This has happen 3 times now in the last 4 games against bigger nations. First we almost lose a 5-0 lead against russia, then we had 3 times a 2 goal lead against czech, but still almost lose in the end, and now lose a 3-0 lead against canada. This team seems to have a problem playing with a lead. Maybe the players lacks experince or something, but it seems to be a problem. On the upside the team preform great at 0-0 in all games.

But to many easy unnessary mistakes.

Forsberg was good, but he can let the puck go more often, use his linemates more, and not try to do everything himself.

So far in this tournament OEL has been the best one. He is the best at both ends. Ekholm probably the next best d-men. Forsberg and Eriksson probably the best forward even if Forsberg should as I mention use his linemates more. Sjögren the biggest surprise.

I watched the game and Klefbom looked just fine to me..

When you basically cause two quality chances against (in which CAN scores both times) you won't be getting good reviews... Apart from that he was not bad, but those mistakes were costly.
