Can you tell me someone, why in roster miss all players from CSKA? Especially Radulov?

All CSKA players arrived at camp injured after their Gagarin Cup exit. We're all pissed about it, but it is what it is. In fact with the roster we have we might need Zaitsev more than Radulov.

Google translates:

Goalkeepers: Konstantin Barulin, Sergei Bobrovski, Anton Khudobin;

"Black" Anton Belov - Maxim Chudinov, Artemy Panarin - Vadim Shipachev - Evgeny Dadonov;

"White" Eugene Medvedev - Yegor Yakovlev, Sergey Plotnikov - Artem Anisimov - Ilya Kovalchuk;

"Blue": Dmitry Kulikov - Victor Antipin Sergei Mozyakin - Viktor Tikhonov - Danis Zaripov;

"Reds": Evgeny Biryukov - Andrei Mironov - Mikhail Grigoryev (three defenders), Sergei Shirokov - Andrei Loktionov (two strikers).

Evgeni Malkin, Vladimir Tarasenko and Nikolai Kulemin will come to the location of the team 1 and 2 May. Pavel Datsyuk participation will be determined later.

Seriously, what was the point of calling up Malkin? It's obvious he's injured and had a horrible playoffs, let the guy rest.

Because its the WHC, and he is one of the best Russian players alive. The WHC is not to test untried KHL players, it is to win the World Championships. We can look at prospects in the EHT and 4-nation tournaments. What else are we saving him for? The next Olympics isn't until 2018, and if the NHL opts out, he won't be there, either.

What do these mean? Sort of projected lineups? Will Panarin, Dadonov and Sipachev likely get a lot of icetime and responsibility?

Forgot to tell. This is line-ups during last practice.

AFAIK Shirokov and Loktionov are still not in final roster.

Maybe Znarok will add line Kulemin-Malkin-Tarasenko or Kulemin-Datsyuk-Malkin. There are many options.

Those are practice units. Means yes, the most probable lines to start the tournament, BUT if Datsyuk is in I suppose him to take Anisimov's spot and Anisimov to center the 4th line with Tikhonov being pushed to the wing.

The Panarin - Shipachev - Dadonov line is just an obvious choice to have the SKA line intact. Whether they will carry the load remains to be seen. But in the opening game with 3 forward lines expect them to be the virtual 1st line.

If and when Datsyuk arrives there will be 3 scoring lines pretty even potential wise.

Kulyomin - Mallin - Tarasenko
Mozyakin - Datsyuk - Zaripov
Panarin - Shipachev - Dadonov

My preferred lines for the tournament. Props to Znarok if he gets these right, proper line formation was, after all, Bil's greatest downfall at the Olympics.

And what about Kovy? I think lines will be different.

Yes this lines are only based on 3 lines. What will the 4 lines be with Pavel / and without Pavel ?

Kovy can be the joker. He can replace Kulyomin and then we'll have a real 4th line with Kulyomin - Anisimov - Tikhonov. Or he can play with Datsyuk and Zaripov with Mozyakin taking Kulyomin's spot. Don't expect Znarok to have his lines cut in stone. also without Ovechkin Kovalchuk is the(only) 4th forward on the PP.

Tikhonov showed far more chemistry with Zaripov and Mozyakin than anyone could have expected. 3 ES goals from that line tonight, I think there is a chance they stay together for a while. After tonight's win, here's what I think will happen:

Kulyomin - Malkin - Tarasenko
Kovalchuk - Datsyuk - Plotnikov (Anisimov)
Panarin - Shipachev - Dadonov
Mozyakin - Tikhonov - Zaripov

Only guy I don't like on roster is Tihkonov, good player but Id rather see a Karpov or Gusev on the team, IMO, more deserving.

Datsyuk not coming.

Zaripov out for this tournament.

Mozyakin-Malkin-Kulyomin new line on practice.

So Malkin's confidence is down after 0 points in playoffs, what better way to revive him than to play him with a bottom 6 grinder and perennial NT failure Mozyakin?

Znarok messed up big time if this is true.

With Datsyuk out as well, Znarok has just about killed all the potential and excitement this lineup had, with this kind of move.
