It's official. Eberle has accepted his invitation. He is going to the WCs!

No word on Hall or RNH yet.

Likely at least one leaf Morgan Rielly will be going also but i don't know if he has been asked yet or not
 
Apparently Duchene, Oreilly, Mackinnon, and Barrie all said tonight that if they're asked they would go.


Canada could be looking at a very good roster this year. Those 4, plus Hall, RNH, Eberle, and Ekblad.


With Nill as GM I would think theres a good chance Benn goes as well.

With Nill in charge it was probably a favor. I already know who they want to coach now..

RNH-Duchene/Spezza-Eberle

That is a sick top 6 already and arguably the best top line at the tournament.
 
Pretty good chance Oreilly and Barrie get the invite as well I'd say, wouldn't be surprised if Mackinnon didn't though, considering how stacked the Top 6 already is. ROR would be great on the 3rd line LW spot with Spezza.

ROR - Spezza - Benn?



Ridiculous Forward group. Defense is still skeptical though. Ekblad, probably Barrie but after that it gets a lot tougher to figure out.
 
Hockey Canada should at least extend an invite to MacKinnon. You want a player like that to know he's in your future plans. Give him a taste of the World Stage at the men's level.
 
Terry Jones - Art Ross Trophy winner (Benn), likely Calder winner (Ekblad), likely Norris winner (Doughty) may all play for Canada at World Championships.

DOUGHTY might play.

Holy crap this team is going to be loaded like crazy especially if they get one or all of Carter, Mackinnon, Benn to commit.

Benn said in a post-game interview tonight that he'd accept if he got invited.

Spezza - Benn

Locked. And Loaded. Wonder if Bergeron or Marchand have been issued an invite.

Good thing too, Canada wins, they're ranked 1st come Game 1 in Pyeongchang. This is the only meaningful World's in the years leading up to 2018.

Thanks to the IIHF for choosing Prague as the host lol, unfortunately don't think we'll be seeing anything close when it's in Moscow the year after.
 
Seems to be quite a roster that's lining up. If Canada does win they will be holding

World Championship
World Junior

When was the last time that was done?
