How is Niklas Hansson not on this team? Right shot.. and clearly better than some of the D selected. I don't get it.

I see some potential rosters that don't have Nylander as the #1 C and wonder why

Who's expected to be the starting goalie? As a sabres fan, I selfishly hope that it's Johansson, but his SHL numbers aren't great...Ward appears to play a more regular role in the Allsvenskan, and Soderstrom looks to be in the same boat as Johansson, between the J20 league and pros (albeit different leagues, but Soderstrom's Allsvenskan numbers are better than Johansson's SHL numbers, and his J20 numbers are better than Johansson's)

Because it really does not matter. I would assume DLR will play with Wallmark so they could certainly be the top line and then have Nylander and Kempe on the second.

I would like to see Nylander on the first PP unit, other than that it doesnt matter if he's on the first or second line, it's usually the line that is the "hottest" line that get most 5v5 minutes anyway.

Sad that Andreas Johnson JUST missed the age cutoff for this tournament, he's a very exciting player to watch.

As a Sens fan, what are the chances that Englund makes the team?

Pretty good, I'd say. The only real locks on D as far as I know are Hägg (because he's already played in 2 tournaments), Norell (because he played last year) and Aho (because he's great). These won't be cut, nobody else is safe.

Hes been sick more or less since summer, he has not been able to pratices for a couple of months. Both junior goalies in Brynäs went down with the kissing decease, one can question what they've been doing ;)

Marcus Petersson is not on the team? Why didn't he make the team? I thought he was a really good prospect. Did he get hurt?

I dont know if he is, but I would say that Kylington should be a lock as well, he is unique in the group. He is the best offensive d-men in the team and has been pretty outstanding in AIK, by far their best player. Since Timashov didnt make the team and Burra possibly miss WJC, then we need creative players.

... And going by what he said about Forsling, he seems to be a lock as well... He said that he expect him to play big minuts for sweden, so going from that to being cut, I dont think will happpen.

Then there are 3 player fighting for 2 spots, and I think they have about equally good chances.

He was in the mix but there was just too much competition.

It's just surprising to see a highly touted player not get an invite.

Hows Julius Bergman chances of making the team? Does anyone think he'll play a big role?

Man, I'm so disappointed Timashov didn't make it, was really hoping to catch a look at him to see what it is that keeps him rated so low in the draft.(and apparently not good enough to make the WJC team)

For the NHL draft, it's his size.

For the WJC, the coach never saw him play.

Last year, the former coach made the trip to Canada to see players, especially Sorensen.

Given that Bristedt is one of the older players, does this help him make the team or is he still a longshot to make this team?

Be aware that this is not a camp, it's a preliminary team with 2-3 extra players. They'll all be going to Canada. Bergman should feel pretty safe given his role and handedness.

It's the same coach. He was in NA and watched Bristedt, Blomqvist, Bergman and Lagesson this year. Seems like pretty strategic scouting just to make sure, because three of them made the team. Grönborg is a former scout and has a lot of extra eyes watching for him.

One D will be cut from the team. And I'm pretty sure that it stands between Englund, Bergman or Lagesson.
I think it might be Englund that wont make it tho. (Indications from interviews and such).
Coach seems very fond of Lagessons two-way abilities, and his "international" play style as he put it.
Bergman is much the same. Same size. good both ways. Likes to play rough and physical, plus he's the only Right shooter. :yo:

1. Is Burakovsky going to play?

2. What's with goalies? Looks statistically weak.

Otherwise: Medal team

Aho is practically a lock? Now I feel like a fool for saying that he might be one of the final cuts on the Sharks board.

Aho's been a rock for this team. On the press conference Grönborg called him the best D overall the last tournaments they've played. Can't say I disagree.
