It's good for Canucks fans to see Forsling.

Any Swede fans out there want to give a quick update on how Forsling has been playing this year? What role is he expected to play on this WJC team?

Really good season so far in the SHL.

I think he's gonna be an allround asset for the team.

Karlsson on the top line and Brodecki on the 4th? Not gonna happen. Grönborg also said Holmström will play center.

I would for sure pencil in Nylander, Wallmark, Holmström and Ehn as the centers of this team.

Don't think it's wise to split up Lindblom and Brodecki, since they are playing together in Brynäs. Question is who will be JDLR and Wallmarks winger? Lööke? Asplund? Bristedt?

Kempe - Nylander - Olofsson
JDLR - Wallmark - X
Lindblom - Holmström - Brodecki

Exactly, and that is why they should have had Timashov in this team in case of washington dont let Burakovsky play in WJC. There is really no natural player that fits in that line. Maybe Brodecki would have done that, but as you say, it fells more natural if he plays in the third line with Lindblom.

Without Burakovsky or Timashov there the second line looks weak, and the third line looks better. The second line screams after some offensive creative player. If Burakovsky comes then everything is fine, but if not, I think Grönborg have mess it up when he didnt include Timashov.

That leaves me to fell like that Lindblom and Brodecki should be winger to Wallmark and put JDLR in the third line instead. However I do think Brodecki will play in the second line in the end, Asplund, Lööke Bristedt was surprises that they even made the team, so dont think they will play in the second line. The other alterative is Karlsson, I do not think he should, but I wouldnt be surprise if we see him in the second line, since Grönborg hold him high and this is his second tournament.

I doubt there's anything amazing about the Brodecki-Lindblom chemistry when they only get to play 12 minutes/game in Brynäs. Nylander & Lindblom have showed great chemistry in the past.

Seems like it was already a foregone conclusion, or someone else posted it and I missed it, but.

GM Marc Bergevin has confirmed @JacobdelaRose will be loaned to Team Sweden for the @IIHFHockey World Junior Championship.

Seems like Nylander never plays with Olofsson on MODO, so he might be bumped down a line or two. I can see Lindblom doing well next to William.

Kempe - Nylander - Lindblom
JDLR - Wallmark - Brodecki
Olofsson - Holmström - Asplund

Yes, and both him and Lindblom have played with Lööke and other players as well. But it is still the most natural thing to do.

Here is one reason why Bristedt is on the Team:

Goals per game in international play w nationalteam

Player Games Goals Goal/Game
Nylander 22 38 58%
Bristedt 27 47 57%
Kempe 27 57 47%
BurraKowsky30 67 45%
Holmström 11 30 37%
Wallmark 14 58 24%
DelaRose 18 91 20%

@TSNBobMcKenzie: WSH does not plan to release Andre Burakovsky to play for SWE in WJC. Highly unlikely EDM loans Leon Draisaitl to play for GER.

Without Burakovski on the Team, De La Rose should be named Captain IMO....

Burakovsky never struck me as captain material.

DLR 'C'
Hägg 'A'
Wallmark 'A'

Is very likely. DLR was captain in Lake Placid. Wallmark was captain last tournament where DLR didn't play. Hägg plays his third WJC.

I'd be shocked if you were wrong on this one.

I got tickets for the Sweden vs Czech games. As a Leafs fan I'm mostly there to see Nylander, but who else should i be paying attention for. I'd assume Kempe is key and will Kylington be on the team (and if so will he get significant minutes?).

Kempe will probably be one of the guys relied upon to score, Kylington is on the team and will most likely play 2nd/3rd pairing minutes. I know the leafs didn't draft Lucas Wallmark, but keep an eye on him he is a really really good playmaker.

Oh and I almost forgot Aho! Small but very talented PMD.

Among D I think Aho & Kylington are going to be the most noticeable guys. Among forwards Nylander is going to stand out a lot, hopefully in a great way. Kempe will do his rushes, Wallmark will control the PP. I can almost guarantee there will be big surprises. Guys like Olofsson & Lindblom could easily have a tournament like Friberg had a few years ago if things go right.

Thanks for the tips, are there any draft eligible guys on the team outside of Kylington?

Jens Lööke (2015 draft) and Rasmus Asplund (2016 draft). I'm guessing Lööke is one of the cuts though. Asplund is the more interesting player but in this tournament he will probably get a pretty small role.

You forgot Aho! I know there are size issues but I still can't believe no team picked him.
