Axel Holmström just scored for SAIK.
Anton Blidh is a great PKer even on mens level, he will be valuable for us. Karlsson - Ehn - Blidh line will be tough for opponents.
Two goals by Holmström now. Kid's heating up.![]()
Burakovsky only played 8 minutes in his comeback. I don't see how they don't release him if that's the ice time he's going to get.
It would be better for the team to release him, but I guess it is prestige in it or just stupidity.
On defence I reckon it's tougher to say. Hägg and Norell were a pair much of last year's tournament, and played quite well. Aho is also a lock, and Grönborg flat out said Forsling will be relied upon to play a lot of minutes. Bergman is, for me, the wildcard, but as the only right shooting defenceman in the group, you'd imagine he gets a spot. My guess is that one of Lagesson and Englund will be the last D casualty, as they're fairly similar.
I could see quite a bit not being decided until the pre-tournament friendlies are played, though. Last year I think most expected Anton Karlsson to be cut, until he absolutely killed it in the warm-up games.
Uh oh, did I miss some big news? Where's Kylington?
Kylington should have one of the spots on defence. He's unique with his skating and powerplay ability; I'd be surprised to see him left off. As it stands, there are eight defencemen in the squad.
Kylington is NOT injured

This won't come as a surprise to most, but #Caps announce Andre Burakovsky will remain with team and will not play in 2015 WJC tournament.
Kempe - Nylander - Olofsson (chemistry)
Holmström - Wallmark - Lindblom (Homer can play wing)
Brodecki - JDLR - Lööke (Brynäs-connection, JDLR fits better here)
Karlsson - Ehn - Blidh (Seek & destroy)
Asplund (experience for the future)
Kylington - Hägg
Aho - Norell
Forsling - Englund
Lagesson
All D pairings have one offence, one defence. Lagesson for the grit factor.
