San Jose Sharks fan here. Curious to get some Swedish posters opinions on Fredrik Bergvik as Johansson's replacement? It seems when he was drafted by the Sharks he was fairly highly touted as a goalie prospect yet I haven't seen anything posted in this thread either positive or negative in regards to him being on the team. Any chance he see's any game action and if so thoughts? Appreciate the feedback.
 
I didn't watch from the start. Did the younger Grönborgclone say that they are playing a whole different way in the tourny? That the style of play in the warmup games was all experiment? Or were only the lines the experiment?
 
If sweden wants to go far in this tournament grönborg needs to keep nylander happy. Right now he is doing the exact opposite.
 
If it do not work with Nylander as a winger I expect Grönborg to move him back to center very fast. He has after all been one of few things that have been good so far.

Interesting that JDLR seems to be on the 4th line.

I expect Nylander to get about 20 min, I do not want to see socialize coaching, in PP the Nylander formation should be in on about 90 sec per PP, not split it even.
 
Sebastian Aho on the third d-men par? He should be a lock on the first d-men par. He is a key player, and Grönborg have to let him be that.

Yes, that i poor coaching support. He shouldn't have been put at center in the 1st place. On the other hand, with the hype the kid is building around himself and being responsible for 3-4 of the 10 goals against the US you have to put up with that.

Nope, excellent move. Nylander will never make upp offensively for the his lack of defensive play against good team. Now he can have a free role and don't have to try play a defence center position that he is not capable of.

Della on 4th is also great. He has done a good job on lower lines for 2 years JWC and he has not chanced as a player. He scoring is not even top 10 in this team. About 0,2 /game. Not 1st line quality.

Huh? He wasn't responsible for a single goal against. It's funny how many haters this Nylander has.

Lets be honest tho he's no prince defensively. Obviously something wasn't working and IMO he better not be spending his time pouting over this when a goldmedal is on the line.

lol like sweden will win gold with this piss poor team anyway. Other than nylander, there isnt a single high profile players. They're all scrubs, including the coach.

Hey there, don't mock scrubs!:sarcasm: It's with teams filled with scrubs that we have made the final forever now;) Every year is the same story that we lack highend talent. Every year the scrubs steps up and the "stars" do jack ****.
It's upp till bevis now for nylander. Points with modo means nothing only wins with tre kronor.

yeah scrubs like elias lindholm, filip forsberg, erik karlsson, viktor hedman, zibanejad, johan gustafsson, oscar dansk, silfverberg, backlund etc etc

you really think it's nylanders fault for having bad goalies and non existent Defense?

Many of those weren't really considered stars when they played. Zibanejad was a "stable 2-way player". Same goes for lindholm. And filip forsberg was a major disappointment his years. When hedman played we had teams filled with highend players and they won nothing.
So yes if nylander doesn't step up when it's needed especially with the hype he seems to have from fanboys like yourself then he can eat **** and die afaic.
Also we had bad defense every year we played in the finals so it's no excuse.

Eh, Hedman made the all-star team as a 17 yo on a pretty 'meh' Swedish team. Filip Forsberg made the all-star team twice, and was tournament MVP last year. E. Lindholm came into the tournament last year as a top-5 draft pick with NHL experience, how is that not screaming "star-player" at the WJC level?
 
Söderström looked good, thank god. Defense is still bad, the czechs weren't even pressuring them. I would trade our entire group of D for 7 Aho's. The best defensive defensemen on this level are guys that can move the puck.
