no disrespect but good for you guys

Sorry, but that´s not true. Chara is a huge upgrade over any of our EU defensemen. For example, I love how everybody keeps bashing Chara for Sochi, but in fact, the NHL players were the only ones, who at least played on a let´s say standard level. The EU players and mainly defensemen were absolutely tragical.

Dano set to join as well, hopefully the caps beat the islanders and we get visnovsky and halak :p

I am not sure if Gaborik will be willing to join our team after today´s performance.

Yeah, and if Slovakia loses points in first game against Denmark because the lack of coordination of the lines, it most definitely won't be because someone didn't play in the preparation games and the coach had to shuffle all the lines before the first game, right? :sarcasm:

Just for the record, I am happy that Gaborik chose to play at the WC and I hope him joining at the last possible moment won't cause any negatives on the team. But considering that every single game in the tourney could decide Slovakia's QF fate in the tourney, it's hard not to see this all as a negative.

I still can't understand why Vujtek won't try Daňo or Réway on centre. It can't be worse...

Because for some reason Vujtek and co. are convinced that some magic will happen and all of a sudden after a tragic season in the NHL Kopecky will turn into a 1st line center on the national team. Somehting that he never was even in his best season.

Really scared for next week after watching these last few matches.

And we lose again, oh dear :/

Same, I always believe in them so hopefully they'll turn it around.

I hope so, but this is unforgivable. The Latvians dominated completely. We were playing like a 1st division team. If it wasn´t for Laco, we would have also lost in regulation today, I think.

watched only todays game. from slovakia side it looked more like a training session. no speed and no use of the body. looked nobody wanted to get hurt.. so i would say this kind of test game has nothing to tell about what is happening next week

Vujtek has said the exact same thing. I would love to believe, but I just don´t know. If it really was that way, it was one huge and ugly slap into the faces of fans.

When your head isn't in the game, you can be surprised easily... Finland almost lost to kazaks last year. Only OT win in a must win game from them. Also we lost to other weaker than our team -opponents. Barely got into QF, it wasn't even in our own hands, swiss had to take a win for us to make it, and they took.

Then our team won Canada 4-0 in quarters.. so.. you never know and some times you can be upset by weaker opponent even if you really aren't that bad.

Yeah, that is true, but seriously, we played those 2 games like a 1st division team. That was a catastrophe.

2010. Vancouver. Kopecky was the bomb.

Guy's a winner anyway.

This is unfortunately huge. Nagy plays at a level few of our EU based players do.

There is still possibility, that Red Wings will lost their 7th game.
Lets see, if Halak will join the national team. That will be bad for Hudacek. Then he must wait in the line for his 1th WCH game.

If Halak indeed comes for the WC, I won't be able to decide who is unluckier in this regard, Julo Hudacek or Jan Sykora...both have been waiting for years to play at the WC...I suppose Hudacek as he is older and already was with the team several times and still didn't get to play...

Now he gets named top goalie and MVP in SHL and it might still not be enough...

Then again, he didn't help himself too much in the preparation games...neither did Sykora for that matter.

I would prefer top tier european goalie than Halak coming from small ice to play immediately on bigger ice rink.
