Any way to make our voice heard to Yle? The only link I can find is this "news hint" thing. There should be some way to make Yle wake up to the realization that 1) the next U20 tournament is in Finland and 2) some of the most exciting, draft-eligibile players Finland has ever produced will play in that tournament. More than enough to justify "public interest". If I were Yle, I'd pay UEFA CL money to get the rights to the junior tournament. For once, the money would be spent on something Finnish people care about.

if it comes to that we get relegated im sure IIHF will suddenly say that we cant since were the host ofc they could move the games but i wonder how much that would cost for the IIHF..

They said that we have the option to give up the hosting duties

Pretty sure that's just talk to stop controversy. Kummola would go ballistic and turn the IIHF inside out if it actually came down to that. If he's good for anything, it's pulling strings.

If it comes down to that, it'd probably mark the first time in history most of us would be happy to still have Kale around.

QF against SWE

In this game i think Fin should play with Saros.
I´m sure when Swe see him they will be afraid of his show from last year:handclap:

loving the situation here, everyone is expecting Sweden (group 1st) to beat Finland (group 4th), underdogs even we are defending champs. that said, not waiting miracles to happen with scoring/pp.

I can't see our team beat Sweden. But miracles can happen. I trust Husso more than Saros. Husso seems just more calm.

But I want Jortikka out of the U20 team. On the other hand, we don't have good 1st on even 2nd center.. Many players have been worse than I expected. I don't put all of this on Kapanen, there is just something seriously wrong.

Yeah, it's hard to tell how much of this is on the players and what's on the coaching.

At the very least, Jortsu & co must take some responsibility of that horrendous PP. How many chances more must they waste before they finally decide to try something different?

C'mon, at least find one unit that works. Maybe...

Rantanen - Mustonen - Hintz
Honka - Lyytinen

and

Lehkonen - Kalapudas - Puljujärvi
Kapanen - Ilvonen

I don't know what everyone is panicking about. If we win swedes yay we make to medal round if we don't, well it's only teenage hockey...

I see this team putting up a good fight against Sweden.
But in the end, Ruotsi will win by a goal or two.

Have a feeling that Finland eliminates Sweden. By the looks of the scheduling, isn't it true that the winner of Fin/Swe faces the winner of USA/Rus?

Here's the schedule, so since Fin-Swe and USA-Rus are the 2 first games, I'm thinking they face each other in the semis?
http://www.iltalehti.fi/jaakiekko/2015010118966026_jk.shtml

If true this also means Canada will play the winner of SVK/CZE in the semis so they are already in the finals if that is the case.

Reading the news stories this morning, everyone seems to acknoledge the PP isn't working, including the players and Jortikka. Which is then weird that the coaches didn't (seemingly) react it it in any other way that restoring the original PP line ups. It was still mostly get the puck to Honka, who shoots from the blue line, or to Puljujärvi, who shoots from the circle, although the weakness of the opponent allowed for some extra ideas, just poor execution. Also reading Jortikka complain about the schedule, it doesn't appear there will be much ice time to work on the PP.

The PK is very passive and conservative as well, just a box standing on its feet. It just seems the team didn't prepare well enough for this tournament- that is on the coaching.

When it comes to restoring the original lines, I don't think that was bad call per se - the line changes were in large part to wake up Kapanen, who has been playing better, so why not.

I'm not going to be dramatic and claim there is no way we can beat Sweden, there's always a possibility of that occuring. Still, the lack of scoring is bound to catch up on us on this tournament, sooner or later.

Finnish teams have never been known as high scoring powerhouses, but this team is something else. 5 goals in four games and 0 for 16 (?) on the PP. How is it even possible to score a combined 3 goals against slovaks & germany? A lot of the blame goes to jortsu ( especially special team play), but the leading players need to step up. This team needs an offensive leader.

I might be overly optimistic, but i still believe this team has the capability to beat Sweden. As Tami always says: "If there's a difference between goaltending, the team with the better goalie always wins" ;)

Husso can´t win against Swe.

We should play with Saros

Last year Husso lose 4-2
Saros win 3-2 with an amazing championshipwinningsave in OT

Based on what we've seen here, Husso is the logical choice. While a case could be made for Saros, it's not enough to really turn it into a serious debate.

thats right - Husso has played the better games but Husso is not the right choise against Sweden I think.

I´m quitly sure that we can`t win with Husso

Well Saros hasn't exactly been impressive in this tournament so winning it with him seems more unlikely.

Husso 0.96 GAA .968%
Saros 3.03 GAA .875%

Quoting those stats is a bit of quoting schmats here. Saros let in one softy against Slovakia. Those goals against Canada weren't really his fault. Actually, it would have been even bigger of a blowout with worse goalie in net.

Still, they're going to pick Husso and most of us are okay with that.

Nah, husso is the perfect choice for this match. I think the fact that he lost the game against sweden last year only motivates him to do better in this one. As for saros he'd have maybe too great of a challenge trying to live up to last years expectations.
