I saw the tweet. It is never a wrong move sending a 19 year old back to finish off his junior career...especially a 19 year old D-man. from all indications he had a good camp and showed a lot of progress and improvement over last year...so am looking for him to have a monster year and be in contention for one of those 7 coveted spots on Canada's d-corp. Can he play the right side at all? b/c that is where we need D-man. We are in good shape on the left side.

At our camp he did not & in the games I have saw of him in Rimouski been the same as well (although I can't say for certain since it's only been a few). He played with Shayne Gostisbehere who the Flyers just moved to the right side (he played the left side his whole college career) & Braydon Coburn who's always played the right side for us.

Petan, Morrissey, Klimchuk, Ritchie, Dickinson, Baptiste, Dal Colle, Virtanen, Sanheim, Bertuzzi, Nastasiuk, Fleury sent down to Junior. Bennett, Horvat, Lazar, Fabbri, Reinhart are some who are still with their teams.

Fleury is also back with red deer

At camp most likely to be sent down soon.

Nurse
Bennett
Fabbri

At camp likely to get at least 9 games and will be evaluated further

Horvat
Duclair
Lazar
Reinhart

At camp will make it but depending on performance could be at WJC

Drouin

My presumption at this moment is we have 5/6 out of the 8 for the WJC.

Drouin's performance the first months will be interesting...if he does have an adjusment period will Stevie Y send him down to have a potentially great winning experience and help him grow as a player...

Wish he does, will learn way more and will play in a spotlight and pressure situations the NHL doesn't have at that moment, way better then playing boring regular season games come december.

Wonder how Reinhart will do. Hope to get him for the World Juniors but he just put up 105 points in junior so not sure what Buffalo will do.

hasnt blown the doors down in Buffalo, not the type of player that really has to though.. will be a tough call. Sure he gets his 9 games but i could realistically buffalo opting to send him down

I have a hunch Ekblad will be available. I've never been sold on his "NHL ready" game and is still very much a work in progress...

while he may not get returned to junior, I think he'll play a limited role in Florida to begin with and come Christmas time, Florida just may view a stint with the junior team as a good opportunity for his overall development.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
CGY expected to clarify today but sounds as tho shoulder surgery is more likely than not for Sam Bennett. If so, he'll be out months.

that's not good. to recover from shoulder surgery could take up to a year... in which case, that sets his NHL dream back a ways...

bad news about bennett.. was looking forward to him being on the team, at the very least he would have been an actually skilled depth player that they have been talking about taking this year and likely even more than that... Is he completely out of the question now do you think? heard any more?

I'm hearing we can forget about Bennetts participation at this years WJC, looks like most of his season will be gone rehabbing that shoulder.

Just ****in great.

What about Fabbri, Reinhart, Horvat, Duclair, and Lazar? I guess Fabbri will likely be available given the depth of the Blues.

Overall I think we will be fine, there are still a lot of great players.

Honestly could see all being returned. Fabbri already sent back

Reinhart Duclair, and Lazar

all played regular shifts logging decent minutes in their debuts...honestly, I can see all 3 not being returned...

I could see the strongest case for duclair staying right now, lazar is in the middle, tough call. The one that i think will be returned easiest is reinhart, doesnt seem to have that extra step yet for the nhl. In an ideal world he would go to the AHL but its either NHL or WHL for him and i think it would work best if he wasnt playing third/fourth line minutes being exposed to that train wreck in Buffalo

Reinhart returning
Lazar depending on if organization can move a player so he might be sent back.
Duclair looks to be solid but never know how this progresses.
Horvat returning to game action this week

This team will be loaded either way even if only 2 of these players are available, there should be no excuse not having a dynamic team compared to previous years.

Though I think by the end of it
Reinhart
Lazar
Horvat
are all playing come december.

It would of course be the right decision to return Reinhart to junior..that goes as well for Nurse in Edmonton, but when do these organizations ever make the right decisions in the player development department?

and while they are at it, Edmonton should return Draisaitl; Germany is in the tourny as well. It would be nice to see him play and help Germany be more of a competitive team.

Good news for the team as Darnell Nurse has been sent down to Soo, nurse and morrisey should form a very good top pairing, bumps everyone else down a bit which would also be for the better.

Good news. now I hope Buffalo gets smart and makes the right decision. Duclair is 50/50 and Lazar? based on how he played last night, smart smart hockey player, is doubtful.
