Wow Danzig is still around? Does anyone even care about Danzig? Or is this another Danzig?

Also, didn't know the Dead Kennedys still existed. I thought Jello was pretty much just a political activist now.

I'll point out that Reset is doing a reunion show, which is the original band of some of the guys from Simple Plan. Not a fan of either.

Also awkward... Henry Rollins and Black Flag

has anyone been to this? i hear the organization is a **** show?

misfits and danzig (with Doyle) aswell lol.

for those asking:
rockfest is now part of the big festivals in quebec. (like festival d`été and just for laughs) the same people organizing those festivals will be in charge of the logistics.
theyre promissing more budget (more bathrooms, the camping site will be next to the shows, more giant screens, etc)
so im guessing the experience will be good weather you`ve been before or not. impossible to know, but just that should help and the chaos from last year should be used as experience to not repeat the same mistakes.
ive never been to rockfest but ive heard the complaints.

so far i rather go to rockfest than heavy mtl. but metallica at the end is the biggest name and closer to me. im yet to decide

Heard some interesting bluesfest rumours/confirmations. One being a large female pop act which i don't care for because it is a bit babyish, a band from earlier in the 2000's that im not all that fussy about and the last one i referenced in my last post in here but got the venue wrong!

They just announced Westfest for this year:

A Tribe Called Red
Ashley MacIsaac
George Leach
Good2Go
The Peptides
River City Junction
Last Supper
Shawnee
Maria Hawkins
Fevers
Brock Zeman
Smoke Wagon Blues Band
Lakes Distrikt
Pony Girl
Matthew James Weiler

Not bad for a free festival. Definitely want to see Fevers and The Peptides.

Thanks for sharing.

So I'm guessing, Lady Gaga, The Killers & Def Leppard?

Hear anything else!?

Beck, St. Vincent, and Ray Lamontagne are also rumoured.

Most of the rumours don't have me as excited as usual, but if this happens, particularly Beck, I'll still buy in.

I wonder if Beck would play Jazzfest though? He's playing in Montreal during the Jazzfest dates. We'll find out tomorrow.

Glad someone picked up on it....haven't heard much else, as for the bolded it is the other one i mentioned, allthough their band name may lead you to believe they are in fact even older then the bolded band :yo:

Nothing is set in stone until it's released but i believe the three im referencing will be the big three at bluesfest

On Beck, he tends to only play 1 or 2 shows a week, so it wouldn't surprise me if he played Montreal Jazzfest (I think it's June 25) and then took a few days off before playing Bluesfest. He would be a great opener for the 20th anniversary of Bluesfest.

I see Ben Harper is playing Montreal Jazzfest, too, so he's pretty much a lock for Ottawa Jazzfest or Bluesfest. Diana Ross would also seem like an obvious cross over, as the Bluesfest team likes to have one legend perform.

Jack White has also been rumoured, as he's doing the festival circuit.

One year, Bluesfest will get Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and this is as good as a year as any. I'm not a big TP fan (the wife is), and he would be very good for Bluesfest.

The one band that I'm hoping for among many is Modest Mouse.

Modest Mouse I would love to see. No dates announced after late May, other than Osheaga.

Beck rumours are fun.

Lady Gaga plays Montreal on July 2, and then nothing for five days. Also plays Toronto on July 9. Ottawa stop makes sense time wise. Seems like she would be the type of artist that would bust a massive chunk of the budget.

Wouldn't mind seeing Chvrches, but they're in Europe starting late June to play every European festival ever. There is a gap during Bluesfest with no dates, but that seems a stretch.

Few other Osheaga acts I'd love to see at Bluesfest... Outkast(I can dream, right?), Childish Gambino, J. Cole, Half Moon Run, Danny Brown, Hey Rosetta, Manchester Orchestra

Bluesfest twitter account posted this picture as a clue/lineup teaser...

The Stones? Seriously?

That would EASILY break the attendance record for a single show at Bluesfest.

Danzig never went away my friend, dark elvis has only grown stronger. Saw his set with Doyle last summer and it is incredible. Misfits, samhain, and Danzig tracks for the set.

Talk about awkward #2, Danzig and jerry only are both there.

As far as jello goes, the Kennedys had a different singer a while back and I'm not sure it's changed, probably not him.

Between rockfest and heavy montreal it's a great summer for metal, especially for classics and thrash!! lml

The cutlass was present in the 06 edition of Bluesfest. The 2 hints in there are 26 (twenty-six) and 2006 Bluesfest.

EDIT: Rihanna might make sense, since she is 26 and was there in '06

Rihanna and/or Green Day make sense. Both would make for a fun summer night.

Tough clue.

Rihanna is touring with Eminem this summer and Green Day doesn't seem to be touring so both seem unrealistic and/or too expensive for Bluesfest.
