yeah, I was about to say that Staal is fairly mobile, especially considering his size.

One has nothing to do with the other.
Bickel has nothing to do with Staal not having full vision in both eyes. Nothing to do with Staal suffering at least one concussion in each of the last three seasons.
And has nothing to do with the fact he is going to be an unrestricted free agent on July 1, 2015, and will command 6 million annually.
I'm just glad your not Glen Sather and I can't wait till they renew he's contract before 7/1/15

You realize the Rangers will trade him if they can't sign him to a contract they like right?.. They traded Callahan for God sakes, and they were prepared to trade Girardi as well. Staal will not be leaving for nothing. He will either re sign or be traded.

Agreed. We're taking a step back. Hell, re-signing Stralman just makes us status-quo and we still have a gaping hole on the PP point.
If we lose Stalman, then the replacement should someone that can help on the PP.

Agree with you here. I hope they renew him for a good 5 years. Would be nice to have McD G and Staal locked up for a long time in their prime

We can't offer sheet him since we don't have our 2015 first rounder.
The key phrase here is "mobile for his size".
Doesn't make him mobile. Its an uphill climb for him to take the puck by himself. He doesn't have the acceleration or seperation.
McDonagh, Moore, Stralman, even Klein are mobile.
I really should stop harping on it, and just let it speak for itself this upcoming season.
If the overal (true) mobility is lessened, the transition will suffer on more shifts through each game. Will effect our ability to more consistently apply forecheck and pressure.
We will see what happens.

Lol so I didn't feel like arguing I guess that means I'm a teenager? Yes!!! Now I can start up my hockey career!... but seriously I have my opinion you have yours. Theres a reason why Staal is still on the team and likely will be renewed while stralman is walking but that's just my opinion
