Is that account reputable though? also I don't see how we can have Staal at all. What would we move? Rick Nash? Lundqvist? we can't even sign our own 3rd and 4th liners right now.

Depends on what we'd have to give up. His right handed shot instantly makes our powerplay more dangerous. Stepan has proven he isn't the answer in that role.

obviously salary has to go back the other way...

most likely this is all bull **** (spezza included), but could be why the Rangers aren't willing to overpay for their guys...

Ehhh I'd have a worry about that, but he nixed a trade to Nashville over the weekend. I have a feeling he has a select few teams he would go to, and I think the Rangers are one of them.

I'll put it this way, if we got Spezza I would be okay with it. He is a first line center.. 7 million cap hit is not horrific and besides last year he is producing at nearly a point a game. Sign me up.. reluctantly.

Massive upside, was never really given a shot with the Devils and the Canes. I think with the right system he could take off.. he's only 24 which is scary.

If you get him on a cheap 2 year deal, I would be very happy with the potential.
