Odd patterns emerge when you dissect the population into smaller subsections.

Rangers record on Fri/Sat games: 15-9-2 (1.23 Pts/Gm)
Rangers record on Mon/Tues games: 9-10-1 (0.95 Pts/Gm)
Glad i made my class schedule for monday/tuesday for my last semester of grad school ha.

Zucc was our best offensive player this past year. If we don't bring him back, we are morons.

4-6 years at 4 mil per. Lock him the **** down.

It's not that Nash can't play LW, he's just not as effective at it.

People would rather create their fantasy rosters with people playing on the off-wing, off-side, different positions or not at all just so they can see what they think will be best.

You mean like Rick Nash is doing since joining the Rangers?

Klein played very well for us. I have no idea why people are now targeting him on this board with their bashing. He is a good contract and a slid defenseman. We could trade him tomorrow for a 2nd or 3rd round pick if we desired but there is no reason for us to do that right now.

Looking for a scapegoat most likely. Klein is solid.

Slats is a big Zooks fan. We are in a jam salary cap wise but they will find a way to work things out. Today Slats said Zooks sees the ice as well as anyone in the NHL. The handful of Zooks haters on this board do not in any way represent most Ranger fans or the organization.

I know, that's good :)

As you can see, some of them are actually after me for some reason, and not really Zucc. At least that explains a few things.

But nobody should reply to this talking about me, stuff like that belongs in a PM.

The people who want Klein in the top four must've really liked those third periods in the Final where the Kings had the puck the whole time because that's what entire games will look like if he replaces Stralman.

Stralman was singlehandedly responsible for the rangers getting out of their zone at all this season? Why the **** didn't he win the hart?

I posted this in the last spec thread. It deserves a re-hash:

Playoffs:

Klein: +7
Stralman: +4

Klein: 4 points
Stralman: 5 points

Quality of Competition:
Klein: 27.4%
Stralman: 29.3%

Quality of Teammates:
Klein: 25.5%
Stralman: 27.3%

Corsi:
Klein: +5.9% relative to the rest of the team
Stralman: +2.5% relative to the rest of the team

Deployment:
Klein: 21.8% defensive zone
Stralman: 38.3% defensive zone

Look, ma! Stats! Not just blatant thrown out opinions!

Stralman had the better teammates, faced barely better competition, and was deployed a ton more in the defensive zone. Stralman played with Staal. Klein played with Moore and Diaz.

Klein can hang. And if it's Stralman @$5m per, or Klein @2.9m per, I take Klein every. day.

Fully noting the deployment statistic which is huge in favor of Stralman.

I would take Stralman over Klein anyday if all things were equal (and I'm pretty sure most of this board would too).. However, not for 2M+ difference, that can go to other more important areas.

I'm not worried about any of our RFAs honestly.. I can't see any team with the cap crunch giving up a 1st/3rd for any of them.. and I'm pretty sure they will have to go to at least 4M+ for Zucc and Brassard.. Kreider maybe even as well (which means we have a damn good value locked up for however)... not to mention they would have to sign them, and we just went to the SCF.. so unless its a team out west, or Boston... I can't see any doing it.

The difference in quality of competition is massive. Take note of the QoC TOI% for Girardi and Stralman in the playoffs respectively: 29.6% and 29.3%. Both guys faced top level competition. Klein's 27.4% may not seem like much less to you if you don't understand the stat, but just look at the differences. Girardi and Stralman were separated by 0.3% in the playoffs. Stralman and Klein were separated by 1.9%. The gap is more than six times as big.

Stralman was singlehandedly responsible for the rangers getting out of their zone at all this season? Why the **** didn't he win the hart?

Klein's a great second pairing guy if you like to spend the whole game in your own zone. I'm not going to get into it further with you since you think your eye test is more advanced than the possession statistics.

Pretty interesting wording considering the difference in percentage points were larger for the QoC than the QoT. However I do like Klein and the luxury of having three functional pairings to put up. But it is ridiculous to say that Klein is greater than Strålman. He's not bad but not the 3rd best defenceman on the team.

They also had the luxury of putting Stralman on the ice more, because they had him.. It's a TOTALLY different situation right now.. He's not worth 2M+ more than Klein and the Rangers by their offer dont think so either. That's what it comes down to. The money can be spent in other areas

I have a feeling Zuccarello will sign a great deal elsewhere, Sather indicated he probably can't pay him what he deserves.

Yes he really wants to stay here, but he will also listen to his agents.

But who cares, looking at the eliminiation game, Zucc is not that popular around here anyway...

Speaking about Nash, I really hate him and his contract. That underperforming player prevents this franchise from building a great team.

Considering Zuccs is a RFA I'm not worried one bit

I'm not saying Klein is better than Stralman.

I'm saying Klein @ $2.9m is better for the Rangers than Stralman @ $5m
