Well i think you missed the fact about being outplayed and out shot 2:1. They arent in the same league in this roster. with just a HINT of concentration by the Cro offense in the second period it would have been a 6:2 win

Without this hint of concentration, however, Croatians only completely took over after the result became 3-1. At the end of the second (before that Romanian march to the sin bin) shots were 20-18. So they are still in the same league, they are. Sure Romanians would have no chance in the best-of-7 series but it's not like they would have no chance to win a single game.

You've been making a lot of statements like this as if they're fact, and yet a day later when another game is played you change the statements

You have to slow down.

Ok guys, as it seems that every game discussion turns into a debate about Croatia's roster, from now on this thread will be used to discuss the tournament only.

There are existing threads about IIHF eligibility rules, feel free to use them if you wish to debate about the legitimacy of Canadian trained players suiting up for Croatia.

Thanks.

I can't stop laughing at your imagination. You know a healthy Romanian team is as good as the Croatian one (okay maybe a little worse, Croatia has some star power but still, they are very close), right? I can't understand what's the big deal about them getting a tie even with this crippled one.

Your comments so far has led me to belive you dont really know much about icehockey, the sport that was played today.

The romanian team isnt really good in any aspects. and their goalie is dreadful. perfect example.. well pretty much all game long, and especially in the penalty. he didnt even bother trying because he knew he would be outplayed.

Croatia if they even bothered showing up for more than 5 minutes in a 60 min game would've trashed that team easily.
But they didnt, instead they got embarrassed by getting an OT win against a team that

When you cant get by THAT goalie with 6 minutes of Constant powerplay you are seriously doing something wrong.

If I read the IIHF site properly, looks like Ben Bowns will get the start. I know it should be obvious but I never underestimate the love for Stephen Murphy by GB lol

Croatia is in this tournament... so I don't see how it's offtopic at all. But hey, you kept with the thread theme of overreacting!

im glad they give Ben Bowns a chance, they need to start developing him seeing as Stephen Murphy as of now really is shockingly bad in my eyes. Bad tournament perhaps but the positioning he has and the way he never manages to keep the stick towards the puck is rookie mistakes.
But then again i have high standards when it comes to goalies as i am one

It's hard to pick on him because he's been so good for GB in the past but the last 2 World Champs he was bad and then this year again, bad. I think he's too used to playing behind an EIHL powerhouse, whereas Bowns is on one of the worst teams, faces the most shots, and he's just a little more sharp when facing quality chances.

That was my thought, Belfast must have one HELL of a defense because all the rookie mistakes murphy has showin in this tournament is just utter shocking for a goalie that was ranked #2 in the league

Just to make it clear, discussing Croatia's roster is on topic, but there's no need for it to drown all other discussions.

Furthermore, eligibility rules don't apply to Croatia only, and thus can be discussed in dedicated threads.

And a final reminder: No public discussion about mod decisions.

There is no "what have you done for me lately?" mentality when it comes to the GB senior team. A large part of the GB selection is the name on the back of your jersey.

I'm sure if Stevie Lyle had not voluntarily retired from international hockey they would still be selecting him to back up Murphy.

Ugh this stream is killing me.

Edit: Actually the onhockey one that was just posted is actually pretty good now.

Ye I just got it going...

Holy crap  it's working great.

i take it that this announcer is Belfast giant's announcer?

He's even worse than the dude that announced hockey olympics this year.. Was stuck in London and i was so angry because he had no clue what he was talking about haha

Haha that may have been Brent Pope.

Benn Olson is a player for Coventry Blaze though

in that Brent pope needs to find a new sport to commentate on haha.

benn olson seems to be the second commentator that isnt speaking that much?
not impressed by the way he constantly has to exaggerate the situation and "omg its that amazing none could stop that" etc:p

Lithuania certainly took advantage of this short break

What exactly do you have in my mind? You keep saying that but I really can't understand what do you have in mind.

And you obviously know all from watching one match, am I right? I can bet anything this was the first match you saw Romania play ever.
