And you obviously know all from watching one match, am I right? I can bet anything this was the first match you saw Romania play ever.

No, actually ive seen all the games in this Tournament as its paying me quite alot to do so.
aswell as U18 Tournaments, Div 1 A&B, etc.

Incredible timing.

i take it you're british and all that?
If so im so curious to know out of all the cities in UK: Why isnt there a single real hockey team playing in London? Its like the european Mekka for Icehockey to be played.
Spend alot of time there, been to several rinks and none really has a clue why there isnt any elite team, nor real hockey team being used there

haha I'm not but from what I've been told the cost of living is so much more expensive so it makes it difficult to have a team there.

Hm i guess. Well my GF's apartment has 2 bedrooms and all that, quite nice and she pays 500£ a month. only 10 min away from Alexandra palace which is this simply amazing rink at a perfect location aswell.

Only minus side there is that they've removed the glass so you cant play any real hockey there.

I see potential in it though, quite big potential as a city like London will draw huge amount of elite players. Easier for them to get elite players than, lets say Belfast due to the location.

Done a few goalie events at Alexandra palace, love the ice too:p

And you still think Catrinoi is such a bad goalie, amongst other things? That's even stranger.

And that's true, Romanian team really isn't all that good at anything but what are is Croatia particularly good at?

Ally Pally is not a perfect location

If you don't live near, it's an absolute pain in the arse to get there

London has already tried and failed at hockey at the top level. There just wasn't enough interest in it and the suitable arenas were too expensive to use

Why is that strange? Look at him. He cant move laterally. he is slow. He cant anticipate plays. He has horrible position on his glove hand + his own position, His stick is everywhere and hes swimming on the ice half the time.

Tell me ONE thing and ill let it go. ONE thing that makes him a good goalie, beause in my 18+ years of being a goalie and a goalie coach aswell for the past 10 i simply cant see why he is a good goalie in any aspect of the game.

Croatia atleast has plays going whileas Romania pretty much just tries to get the puck on net without setting up plays etc. Im not saying Croatia is a specially good team, but against Romania they should've won by alot more than they did, and almost losing a game vs that team + that goalie baffled me.

i guess that goes for majority of the central london area, driving is a ***** there.

But tuba aint far away, lots of parking space and in a quiet area with an amazing building.

When did they try it though? from what i've heard they never actually did anything 100%.

Hockey now is growing alot in Europe, england has been slow but definately picked up alot the last few years.

Its hard to compete with football, especially in London but with 5 million people in a city (thats my entire country in one city)
Should still be able to put up more income than majority of the teams already in the british league

So funny seing norways most inconsistant Referee being in this game. Awesome guy though, lives in my city (Trondheim)

The London Knights were in the old Super League from 1998-2003, and the London Racers were in the EIHL from 2003-2005

Due time to give it another shot imo. its 2014 now and hockey is alot more popular in GB aswell as over Europe

There isn't a suitable facility. Wembley Arena doesn't have an ice plant anymore, the O2 Arena is too big. Ally Pally, Lee Valley and Streatham don't have the capacity to be able to ice a competitive team unless the owner wants to take a very large loss.

yea saw that was the main reason for London not having an elite team.
Now im not trying to force my opinion on Ally pally but they do have potential there.

When i first went in there i noticed how huge the place really is and how much of it isnt really used. also the locker room part is massive.
"all" they would need to do is actually flip the rink around and they would have plenty space for stands on each side.

Central London would be impossible clearly due to the amount of people there but definately doable if they would get money raised for it.
Personally hoping they get something going as Hockey is growing everywhere.
the attention to Hockey during the olympics was huge for being in Brittain IMO.
All channels i saw there was commercials for hockey, even BBC were showing all games. bbc? cant recall the channel so might be wrong:p

Not going to happen, they already spent millions renovating Ally Pally just a couple of years ago and couldn't be bothered to put plexiglass in.

They're doing a good job at Haringey with marketing and building a fan base but their ceiling will only be the 2nd tier (EPIHL) at best, that'll take a few years and they'll have to consistently get the attendances they have now, but with mostly all fully paying customers.

I never said he's good. He's adequate. As is the team in front of him and as is his opposition. Everything you've said pretty much applies to Odrobny too, you can hardly find a bigger swimmer than he is anywhere. And yet he's on his way to win the whole big thing with .95+ save percentage.

Your comments so far has led me to belive you dont really know much about icehockey, the sport that was played today.

The romanian team isnt really good in any aspects. and their goalie is dreadful. perfect example.. well pretty much all game long, and especially in the penalty. he didnt even bother trying because he knew he would be outplayed.

Croatia if they even bothered showing up for more than 5 minutes in a 60 min game would've trashed that team easily.
But they didnt, instead they got embarrassed by getting an OT win against a team that

When you cant get by THAT goalie with 6 minutes of Constant powerplay you are seriously doing something wrong.

Man. Every game CRO vs ROM was tight. This one too.
Yes, Romania is a weaker team but they played good and deserved that one point.
Their goalie was the best player in the match, so I don't know why all the bashing.

Such a shame they ignored hockey all together doing that. they could've atleast put in plexi, wouldnt be anything but positive for them anyways.

Yea heard alot of things about haringey, got an email from someone there asking to develop some of their younger goalies, which shows they have plans.

Ugh wish it was cheaper and easier flying gear back and fourth from london haha. barely any airlines allowes hockey bags:(
