Man. Every game CRO vs ROM was tight. This one too.
Yes, Romania is a weaker team but they played good and deserved that one point.
Their goalie was the best player in the match, so I don't know why all the bashing.

i think somewhere people got it mixed up where i said croatia deserved that win. i did not. i said they threw that game so bad allowing a team like romania getting a point. all credits to romania for getting them.

Their goalie was LUCKY to say atleast in so many of those shots i have no words. he was not the best, not even close. Any person dressed up as a goalie could take majority of the shots he got him. Croatia kept going straight on his chest and not doing much more than that.

The few times we saw him getting deaked he was flat on his belly swimming and all over the place. and the amount of times where they just moved to the right of him and he leaned back and fell on his ass then following with his glove...
I know this is Div 1. But there must be a better goalie than him to use?

It seems to be awful at all levels

They try to spread it out and have referees representing as many countries as possible, which is stupid, they should be there based on merit not nationality

They have a list they have to follow and its pretty much for these events they are struggeling getting refs. its not like they can say "oyu have to come" as all refs has work etc. Per only said yes because he had time off.
And he's been struggeling in GET(our highest league) and he's mainly been doing 3rd div refereeing here which has hurt his skill alot

Funny how if a goalie covers the puck outside the crease it's a penalty but if a player dives on it on a one timer, no biggy lol

Beaten by a team with 4 players who play in our 2nd tier

Did they get any ice time? Seemed like Dainais Zubrus (1G 1A) was on the ice the entire game lol kinda felt for the guy, he looked exhausted by the end of the game. If GB had an NHLer, I'd expect the exact same minute distribution system though

By the IIHF (or at very least KHL) rules goalie covering the puck outside the crease is not a penalty.

The play you were talking about should have been a penalty but to be fair, there were plenty of calls missed against both sides. I guess you can't complain much since you still couldn't score on 6(?) powerplays you did have.

Well, you got beaten 4-0 by a team whose majority of the players play on even lower level than EPIHL so how Scarecrow Boat puts it, no biggy.

I think you have me mistaken for someone else, I wasn't playing. Didn't you notice I was posting throughout the game?

Yeah, he's been logging some heavy minutes but that's natural, Kopitar played like 25 minutes per game in the Olympics too.

Talking about EPIHL Lithuanians, some of them did, others - not so much. Kieras is a first pairing D so he saw over 20 mins for sure. Pliskauskas played on the 2nd line and 2nd PP unit so I'm guessing 15+, others not so much. And I think there's 3 of them, not 4.

"Yoonmi Lee sees national identity in psychological terms as "an awareness of difference" - "a feeling and recognition of 'we' and 'they'"

I assumed you are a Brit with a "feeling and recognition of 'we' and 'they'". If not, sorry, that won't happen again.

I'm not a Brit :naughty: I never refer to my favorite teams as "we"

Last time i heard of this rule when i was 5 years old haha. Im quite sure none has this rule anymore. Only rule refs has is if the goalie goes behind the net to play the puck and he tries to cover it with the catcher its a 2 min for delay of game.

Then we have that typical roy move, where you go across your half of the ice aswell:p

but other than that goalies arent only allowed to block the puck inside the crease but there is a limit to where a goalie SHOULD be without any rules. aka you rarely see a goalie going past the hashmark in the drop zone as after that referees might just call delay of game if a goalie blocks the puck there.

If a goalkeeper, whose body is entirely outside the goal crease, and when the
puck is behind the goal line or beyond the two lines on each side of the face-off
circles, deliberately falls on or gathers the puck into his body, or holds or places
the puck against any part of the goal or the boards, he shall be assessed a:
➤ Minor penalty (2’)
b) If the goalkeeper falls on or gathers the puck into his body in the area between
the goal line and the hash marks (as shown on diagram) unless he is being
pressured.

Yea those are still there but refs get those calls like once every millenium. All goalies know they wont be able to skate out to the corner for example then block it if there is a skater coming faster than they though.
In most cases a goalie will lunge out of the crease to get the puck in lets say a scrumble, that isnt a penalty even though his entire body has left the crease. its a situational call by the ref and often ignored as a goalie will do their job of stopping the puck if they get the chance.

Its one of those "within reason" calls

IIHF rule 557 and 558

there's a lovely rink diagram which shows where the goalie can and can't cover the puck

yea which is pretty much what i was saying. Except that for majority of leagues has the first hashmark as a "last line" instead of the last one as IIHF has.

Though that picture shows the entire yellow to be allowed. i do belive refs would whistle if they had a goalie covering it up at the boards even if he was challenged there. Hard to say nowadays as none does it
