Buyout Richards. Keep as many of our guys as possible. Give them another shot at it next year. MSL a FA after next year. Nash has three more years on his deal after next year. He becomes more tradeable. We need to draft more goalies. Lundqvist will have to start splitting more games after next year.

We do not have to make many moves. Resign our guys. Get rid of Richards. Get some center to replace him whether its a Grabovski type, a Roy, or some sort of trade. Let Boyle go and try to keep Stralman though that might not work. A PMD would be nice, particularly on the right side, but that is not easy to get.

You can't go for a band aid center. You gotta get a bona fide #1.

We won't have cap room to replace Richards with someone from the outside if we want to keep as many of our guys as possible.

I wouldn't trade both until one of the other D prospects is ready. Would hope Staal can fetch a good forward. I'm sure his stock has dropped a bit since the injury. He's definitely not playing at the level he was a couple years back.

This.

I would re-sign Staal, but with the intention to trade him the minute Skjei proves he is ready.

I would also make Girardi available, but not necessarily shop him, and only for the right price. Unlike, Staal there is no top RH defensive prospect to replace Girardi.

There aren't any unless you want to give up assets for Joe Thornton or Jason Spezza (which I would for Spezza)

I don't think that is the right move. Both Thorton/Speeza could put us in a similar problem with BR(both could end up being bandaids). Rangers may need to scout out teams for elite center prospects.

You need a young guy who can mesh with Krieder. I would look to see what Stepan+ package may get you.

I don't get that. You want a young guy who can mesh with Kreider and you want to trade a young center man in Stepan?

Or you could stick Kreider with Zuccarello and Brassard.

But to answer your question, Nazem Kadri could be on the trading block

Step is kinda in a similar situation that Cally was. He is going to command more money than he deserves. He hasn't shown a commitment towards his conditioning in the offseason.

Even as a 2nd line center, I'm not entirely confident with him. Guys like Miller/Lindberg could someday outperform him.

Still, he is a decent trade piece in a package.

We won't have the cap room to replace the worst player on the team?

Skinner isn't going to address the major problem at forward. Our centers. If Derek Stepan is our #1 center next season; don't expect much.

8.8 won't cover all those raises, and that salary cap number at 71.1 might be closer to 69-70. Sadly think Stralman and Boyle will be the guys leaving. Think Sather will try and Keep Dom and Pouliot as long as their demands are not insane.

I think there is a good chance Staal gets moved and the Rangers keep Stralman.

I don't think we can afford a top 4 of McD-Girardi-Staal-Stralman, especially not if our #5 get $2.9m. Staal seems the obvious choice to move with his contract up in year, but I think we can cover the right side better than the left, at least short term.

Options in IMO are:
- Give this team 1 more crack at it, with the idea being that MSL and Staal won't be bought back. I think we can get it done with modest raises and swapping out Poo for Miller. Top 2 lines would be same, 3rd line is Moore-Miller-MSL, 4th line Fast/Caricillo - Boyle - Fast
- Move Staal or Girardi in a trade for a top 6 C and hope we can cover their spot with in house depth or a cheap UFA
- Move Staal or Girardi for a top 6 forward, move Hags for a top 4 D replacement and hope we can fill his wing spot from within
- Not sign Stralman and hope we can cover him
